Hey. You remind me of t mills lol
idk who he is but i googled him and he cute, so thanks :)
an-animal-imagined-by-poe replied to your post i have never before been so painfully aware of the...
for years and years I assumed that women (well, people, in a variety of contexts, but mostly women) were just saying these things as part of an elaborate social signalling game I didn’t understand, because no one would ever really feel like that
ahh yeah, i feel exactly like that, and it hits me really hard with a lot of gendered structural analysis? because the premises often rely on most people having very strong gendered judgments. Like, it would never have occurred to me, personally, to fear one gender more than another, because that would require a way of relating myself to gender and then identifying a bunch of people as unlike me on the basis of gender? And i cannot do that thing with my brain. While I accept that other people do it it feels WEIRD
In my very intense feminism phase, i think I said a lot of things about gendered behavior, on a structural basis, because other people said them and it seemed to be stuff that should go along with your convictions. But that’s feeling more and more impossible for me to do. Now, when other people anticipate behavior on the basis of gender at all I become so confused? and also tbh kind of fearful myself? what a disasterÂ
