Saw @sga-mcshep-4ever s amazing gifs from Conversion and it occurred to me what a great job JF does. Even before Sheppard truly starts mutating, you get that uncomfortable feeling that something is wrong, something that makes you feel uneasy, knowing that something is off. Unlike normally, when Sheppard is someone you could feel safe around, someone to trust. He is actually more creepy, when he still looks human than when he is fully mutated.
The scenes where he breaks the glass in Elisabeth's office is really disturbing, because you truly realise Sheppard is no longer safe, he is dangerous.
So props to Joe Flaningan👏
On another note: the scene with Teyla I always skip, because it makes me so uncomfortable - not just because I saw it as a cheap excuse for the writers to have a kiss between them (and reminding the audience that "btw these two are into each other, in case you have forgotten" 🙄.) but because they made my favourite comfort character assault someone. I know he is all "bugged-up" and apologises later, but still. Hate that scene. Love the rest of the episode though.

"Look. I made a new friend." "It's only protocol." "That's your answer for everything." "You look well. Should you be out of bed?" "I was going a little crazy down there, so they said I could walk around for a bit." "That's good." "Yeah. Look, I'm trying to say I want to go on this mission." "Hey, you said yourself, you are not fit for any off-world activity." "The inhibitor that Beckett's got me on, the one that's keeping me lucid, they keep having to up the dose." "I know. They told me." "I don't know how much more time I have, but the last thing I want to do is sit on my… mutating hands, while my team puts their lives on the line trying to find me a cure! I should be with them."

"You can call me John when we're off the clock." "Very well…John." "There you go." "Should we continue, or do you…" "I'm not really sure just what happened."
