2 years of full dreadlocks today! 🐍This is still only the beginning of this journey. I'm proud to wear my locs and represent them in the best way that I can. One of my main goals before locking my hair was to be able to help change the way some people see dreadlocks when I got them. I take care of my locs. I don't use products to help them hold (NO WAX NO GEL), they are 100% natural. Yes, I do wash my hair. I don't want to be part of the reason that many people are discriminated for having them. I fell in love with the history and many different representations behind dreadlocks from all over the world. For some it may just be a hairstyle, for many it's a lifestyle. An often religious or spiritual way. Dreadlocks represent locking in knowledge, strength & health, holding positive energy, peace, unity and so much more. It's a shame that many think so negatively of them. Dreadlocks shouldn't be dirty. Those who have them shouldn't be seen as someone lazy that just wants to get high all day. They should not be disrespected, period. Don't get it twisted. Everything I do has a purpose. I want to make a positive change with everything that I say and do. Please don't ever confuse me for someone just pleasing the aesthetic, like the hater in an anonymous message over social media assumes of me- lol. This isn't to be cute, even if I just happen to still be cute 💁☮ #CONFIDENT #dreadlocks #dreadjourney #nattydread #medusahead #2yearsdown #lifetimetogo #tattoo #standup #positivevibrations
