Me and Meri chillin’ like villains after my run!
3 miles in 29:25
I ran right at dusk, using up the last few ounces of sunlight. The air was cold, but being the human oven that I am, I needed to unzip my fleece after only a few minutes. I felt pretty sluggish and heavy on this run, but I coached myself through it.
My husband and I are serving in separate branches of the military in separate locations. We’re currently closer than ever before (~3.5 hours), so he’s able to spend most weekends with me at our apartment. To combat the inevitable pangs of sadness I feel every Sunday evening when he leaves, I like to immediately lace up my shoes and go for a run. Even if it’s a semi-shitty run like this one, it helps me channel my sadness into something physical, something therapeutic. And that is invaluable to me now.
