thinking about how it's sooo fucked up that Acamapichtli and Tlaihitali (parent and child, respectively, to keep it simple) both died and reincarnated. Tlaihitali was reincarnated first as an elf, and remembered before Acamapichtli was even reborn as a human.
Now Acamapichtli, now Ale, has this child who is older than them and has just recently remembered that they were her parent in a previous life. like its soooo fucked up <3
And now doubly they had to leave her behind because it's safer not being with them, even though now they want nothing more than to be with their daughter.
NOT TO MENTION the first memories Ale had from Acamapichtli were those of the betrayal they faced and the prophecy Acamapichtli had around Tlaihitali, with only one of them being able to live at the end of everything. Meaning Ale believed that Tlaihitali had betrayed them at the end of Acamapichtli's word, and they only felt bone-deep pain whenever they saw her. But it was so much more complicated than that.
