I was gonna try use this show to illustrate a wider point I have about myself and my relationship to, expectations for, and continual surprise at most cute girls doing cute things shows. But I couldn't really figure out how to word it. So we're skipping that part. Hoshikuzu Telepath is really fucking good! For the larger than life premise of a high school girl alien and a quest to make a rocket to send her back into space, it is a shockingly down-to-earth story about frankly all sorts of things, with the largest being confronting and working towards overcoming insecurities through both the individual and shared pursuit of a dream. In a genre that continuously surprises me with how willing it is to let its characters just be actual people, Hoshitele feels like it goes a step further, Raimon especially is so confrontational and self-destructive as to be challenging to watch in a genuinely good way, and the rest of the cast are really easy to feel for and resonate with. With its more dramatic leanings in general this isn't quite as iyashikei as many of its cute girl contemporaries, but I'd call it a highlight of the genre anyway. Very strong recommend.
Today's Pokémon adventures are after the past few sessions grinding group BBQs with @yurisorcerer I had done enough to get every legendary snack and so I went and caught every single returning legendary. We be gaming.
I had an appointment with a gastroenterologist yesterday, which pissed me off to the maximum. First, there was a 2-hour delay because the doctor arrived late, so instead of 17:15, I entered the doctor's office after 19. Then, he did a small interview with me only to assume that maybe I just have a sensitive stomach even if he had my ultrasound picture and the description of the cyst right in front of him. Then he decided to perform another ultrasound scan with his own equipment just to tell me that he doesn't really see anything there except the fact that I'm quite bloated. Eventually, he decided that maybe I really need to get a MRI scan done so he can see better, so he printed some papers for me and told me to come back with the picture. If there's really something, I will probably also need to have an EUS (endoscopic ultrasound) done. And because it was a private appointment, I also need to have the MRI scan done privately, which means paying big money for it because my public insurance doesn't cover the scan since I decided to have a private doctor’s appointment 🙃
I'm already done with all of this because I still don't know anything, I can't even tell my boss when I'll be back at work, I can't buy plane tickets, nothing. I know it's a shitty time for any medical appointments because of Christmas and New Year but yeah. Done. Tired. Absolutely stressed out.
