#30bravedays: I have this on my desk. It was a beautiful token and reminder given to me last year for speaking in the #DesignHerStory conference. It is still one of my most favorite ones to date as this is also where I met amazing people, including two wonderful women I am so excited to work with @joditsantander @audreyferriol.:) . But this post is not (yet) for celebrating. That will be for another day, with bells, whistles, cakes, and confetti. :) . For now, this is about yet another reflection, this time, on bravery. Every single day since @rags2richesinc began, I have been doing several things a day that scares the ****** (don't mind decoding, I just randomly pressed the stars) out of me. It is not always easy to be strong but I have always pressured myself that it was the only acceptable state of mind and being. So perhaps being brave in my context is also about being vulnerable at times - which to be honest, is one of the scariest things for me.:) . #30bravedays: Day 25 of #30bravedays : okay I've cheated and skipped days but I'll make these last five count, pinky swear. Today was my first day as intern for @aaww_nyc and it was tremendous! I'm going to love it there, I'm sure, fingers crossed. Anyway we're allowed to borrow #books and I chose this amazing duo: a night without armor II: the revenge by @beausia and who we be: the colorization of America by @zentronix. A poetry collection and a cultural critique and I'm thrilled to be reading both. I'm going to take full advantage of my internship and borrow and read as much as I can which I sadly didn't really do at my literary internship. Asian American writers' workshop's library is too good to pass out on. And oh can I just say that sia looks as good now as he did in the 90s? Day 24 of #30bravedays : finally ticked off an item off my #bucketlist yesterday: visiting the Asian American writers' workshop only I'm INTERNING. Still surreal to admit that. Anyway it was my first open mic and it was utterly amazing. They were so damn vulnerable, speaking about rape, sexual assault, transphobia, and much more. Their lines were like wow, I wish I wrote them down. But at least I have the #zine of Sabrina ghaus which is tightly written. I love the #pomengrate cover. I did found one line in the live tweeting for #mouthtomouth open mic: "meri ma i made told me that I share a soul with the birds. So I asked her, who took my wings?" I want to write raw lines like that. And perform at the open mic, I hope I do it in the spring. *fingerscrossed*

I might be able to do another work for elastic mag but their deadline is at 3 today so we'll see. I haven't submitted in years for a publication so I'm excited. I really want to read this #zine.
