Day 30, also the final, challenge of the Bambeco 30 Days 30 Ways to Save the Earth challenge is Start Composting... This photo shows where our compost bin was... We had to dismantle it least year and haven't built a new one one as we wait to see if our garbage company is going to add kitchen scraps to their composting service. Currently they company grass clippings and other years waste but not kitchen waste! The Day 27 challenge for the Bambeco 30 Days, 30 Ways to Save the Earth challenge is Recycle Cork... Here is my basket of corks... My intention was to make some of those fun projects on Pinterest; however, so far they're still in the basket waiting. Last time I collected corks to make a cork board, I ended up taking the corks to our local Co-op to recycle. The time before that I mailed them to Terracycle... The Day 26 Challenge of the Bambeco 30 Days, 30 Ways to Save the Earth challenge is Eat Outside. They encouraged people to have their lunch outside because it's been shown to improve productivity... Okay... Well, eating outside was not an option for me due to the cool, rainy day we're having, so I decided to share an old photo... Day 24 of the Bambeco 30 Days 30 Ways to Save the Earth challenge brings us to Eat Leftovers. In my house this is an easy one. I often cook meals that will leave leftovers. For example, night one of this beans and veggie dish would be served by itself. Night two with some rice. Night three, if it lasts that long, with some pasta or bread... Less cooking, less energy, and still finding a way to mix things up. I also had leftover scones for breakfast this morning, but I didn't think to take a picture. The Day 23 challenge for the 30 Days, 30 Ways to Save the Earth challenge is Just Add Bamboo. I use bamboo utensils and cutting boards. I also bought a bamboo child's step stool to use as a table for one of the water bowls my cats use.
