I thought I needed a fitness goal...A challenge...They usually last 30 days...Why 30 days? I have no idea...Probably because it's equivalent to 1 calendar month...Nothing to do with what your body actually needs to really change (90 days to a year in fact). 30 days like a quick-fix to your weight/shape problem and then what? you've reached your goal, it's the end...you can stop exercising/start eating junk food again...Can you? Of course not! Now I realise, I don't need a 30-day fitness challenge because what I want is a lifestyle...I don't want the ups and downs of dieting, I want consistency...We don't plan our showers 30 days ahead, we just know we'll have to shower 6-7 times a week...The same should apply to exercising and eating healthy...This is for the long run, not for a short term goal. You don't need and shouldn't have a deadline. Eat healthy, exercise and the rest will fall into place...Be firm but gentle with your body...One day at a time...for the rest of your life...
