I’ve come 2 realize my relationship with skateboarding is akin 2 being in a relationship with a demon because you put so much time & energy into learning how to do the activity in the first place & to get good at it only to lose majority of the stuff you learned if you’re not consistent with it & the activity itself doesn’t care how much time you put into it only to keep the tricks that you lost for itself because it’s skateboarding. The motto is “you owe skateboarding” as if I’m owing my life to a sociopath who wants to see me fail instead. You only receive glory when you land shit & even then it doesn’t matter since when you don’t, you just feel like a failure & I’m sick of busting my ass only to receive little to no recognition 4 it. You’re basically killing yourself for an activity that doesn’t care about you & now, I just feel like a fool for investing years into the activity when I could of been doing something else to keep me out of trouble during those times. It’s almost like the juice isn’t worth the squeeze anymore since it wears you tf out & as dope of a feeling you get when you land certain shit, it only makes you feel that rush & nobody else feels it the same so it’s a pretty masturbatory in a way.
