Alright, so my appointment wasn't ANYTHING I thought it was going to be. However, that isn't necessarily a bad thing, as we got good news! There was no growth scan nor a checking of my cervical length; instead I had a biophysical profile done today. Avia is looking fantastic and healthy; the woman who did the ultrasound kept saying over and over how great of a baby she looked. Honestly, my heart soared to hear that. There's no better news than that!! I'll post a 3d picture I got in a little bit; she wasn't too cooperative but you can kind of see her face *and little chubby looking cheeks*
After the biophysical profile, I talked to the doctor who then told me they weren't going to be checking for cervical length anymore. Even though I am continuing to thin, they said that they are just going to let it happen. If it thins completely, my water will break and I will go into labor, which they said they are going to allow to happen. 34 weeks is apparently magical as she said, in the fact that if my water breaks or I go into active labor, they will not stop labor. This is also the reason why she told me the contraction stopping medication they gave me in the hospital, she would like me to wean myself off (I take it every six hours) and eventually completely take myself off. She said if labor is wanting to occur, they're going to let it. I'm still on bed rest though. It appears that one I'm going to be on until Avia enters this world.
On the plus side, I gained 3lbs in the past week. WOOHOO! I'm now at a 15 lb weight gain for my pregnancy, weighing in at 111 lbs. That makes me very happy to hear as gaining weight has been such a struggle. I'm hoping that with this weight gain in the past week though, that Avia's gained weight too!
Next appointment is this Friday for another biophysical profile. Thank you for all the well wishes and for caring so much, my wonderful followers. :) It seriously means a lot to me.
