shade could see madness. not in a person’s behaviour, or how they spoke, but something more physical. like light or colour, an aura swirling around them, and sometimes the madness took on more complex form, like a monster, or a person. rac always tried to keep a clear head, that was really the only way to keep the m-vest from creating something from his own imagination. however that wasn’t always so easy.

and now out of nowhere really, an old dream comes to his mind. a nightmare. one he hadn’t thought of in years. why did the mind bring up things like this without any prodding? the m-vest latched onto that memory and manifested a monster before the two of them. one only a child’s imagination could possibly create. 

rac stepped toward the wall and instantly it changed, a waterfall of shimmering blue, sparkling like water rippling in the sun. he reached his hand out and it disappeared right through the portal he had created. this will take them out of here.   ❝ i think it’s best if you come through here, ❞ shade said quickly, turning back for a moment.  ❝ i don’t have the energy to fight that thing right now. we must go. ❞
