Some of you may recall that I set myself the project of writing a poem a day last year and if you followed along at Dreamwidth, which is where I posted all of them, you probably already know that I’ll be locking all of them at the end of January. This post there has more information.

If you told yourself that you were going to read them later, now’s your chance and invitation to read and save whatever you wanted from them, as long as you keep them to yourself and note from where you saved them.  The poems that I posted to Tumblr will remain unlocked.

We left our angel shapes, glittering, behind us, while our shadows walked ahead, perfect in their forms, hand in hand.

the earth's stomach is pregnant with swallowed seed, swelling full the stomach is the womb only because a child's understanding of new life is tangled in eating and being eaten if you swallow a watermelon seed, you'll grow a watermelon inside so the story goes: the body a fertile ground for impossibility

They said that the house ate him, and I didn't understand if that was a metaphor, since so much in life consumes us, rather than the other way around. Perhaps, it was a metaphor, but children tend to the literal, so rather than question their matter-of-fact revelation, I told them the house must have known what it was doing. Right? They nodded, sage and quiet. That was enough for me. Now, late at night, when my house settles, I think of gaping blackness and when it will be my turn.

time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' - 321/366 by auntneecey Via Flickr: I noticed that I am a bit obsessed with time lately. It never seems to stretch and bend to my will. The times where I am happiest, laughing, playing, singing and being present and really enjoying myself, the time feels like it speeds up. I guess that's where the saying "time flies when you're having fun" came from, it's so true! But then the time drags on and feels like it almost stops in times of boredom, illness, insomnia or watching a loved one suffer. Time is such a precious thing, treasure it because we all have a limited supply. I hope you have a wonderful day whatever you do with your time.
