A clip from the 2012 bdp documentary: "Yame Washi" The Matsuo Washi factory, next to the Yabe River for over a century, is in its fourth generation of family ownership. Working as a photographer, Shigeyuki Matsuo learned the pleasure of craftsmanship. But at the same time, as many people told him how precious and rare his family business was, he was finally persuaded to return to his hometown and succeed his father as the factory's head. He now works with his family and two craftswomen, sisters in their early 70's, who have worked side-by-side as papermakers for over 50 years.
