3. favorite POV (first/second/third/etc)
Third! I really don’t have a reason for why I enjoy it more than other PoVs. I mostly write fantasy, and I prefer fantasy novels written in 3rd person, so maybe that’s why. xD It takes a very special voice for me to use first person.
From TCC: Book 1 (unedited)
“Why are you dressing up today?” Narak asked her. “The Festival isn’t until—”
Cleo had given up on pinning Lexi’s hair, and when Lexi swung her head to Narak, half her hair fell loose. “I want to make sure my dress looks appropriate!” she said. “Mom always says it’s better to do this stuff early so you’re not rushing around right before it’s time for the big show.”
“Miss Lexi, please let me fix your hair,” Cleo said, her wrinkled hands taking one of Lexi’s curls.
Waving a pale hand, Lexi continued, “Anyway, when does Mom even come back? She’s been gone forever!”
“She should be back in time for the festival,” Narak said. “Don’t worry.”
Lexi groaned and slumped in her chair, and Cleo slapped her neck with a comb.
Narak chuckled and leaned off the wall, making his way to the door. “I’ll leave you do this, then,” he said. “Cleo, hit her again if she needs it.”
“Yes, Captain,” Cleo said, and Lexi’s mouth dropped.
“You’re a terrible father!” Lexi called, jerking from Cleo’s hold to throw her slipper.
Narak laughed and easily dodged the shoe, then tossed it back before closing the door. A thunk came from the other side of the door, followed by Cleo scolding Lexi about acting more like a lady.
(Let it be noted that Lexi is Narak's step-child, not blood-related daughter.)
