susurration

a rushing

as the tide hurries back

to reclaim its bed

on cue

the cicadas awake

chiming in

with their calls

warbling in

counterpoint -

night flips to day

beneath a grey-blue sky

The Beatles were filming the Hard Days Night cinematic trailer there on that day. Dick Van Dyke was on holiday in the UK at the time and visited the set. I think the person next to him, obscured by Brian is his wife, Margie Van Dyke.

the speech bubble inflates

a shine around it

drifts towards me

i catch clumsily

it bursts in my grasp

my hand closes on air

the message lost

i call out my regret

to the empty skies

the clouds gaze down

disappointed

"Ooo that's presti!" "Bigby's hand!" "Mould earth!" excitedly we whisper-shouted spells and pointed out tabaxis, mimics, displacer beasts giggling, gleeful, we saw our beloved game writ large on screen yup, passed the DC check
