3 Blind Mice is the show to watch!
Attention, everyone! Class is now in session.
It is not news that creators of color have been quietly working in the shadows of self-made avenues like Vimeo and YouTube for years, trying to carve out spaces for stories mainstream media ignores on TV. Sigh. But it was in this sacred silence that 3 Blind Mice was born.
The official synopsis reads like an excerpt from my personal life:
"3 Blind Mice is a show about the very rocky transition into adulthood that we all can relate to while simultaneously recognizing and embracing the uniqueness of black culture. ”
I know from personal experience that adulting while Black can be difficult even on a perfect day but just imagine adulting while being a Black woman...at a predominantly white college (PWI). Stressed yet? Now meet the 3 Blind Mice characters.
“Our main character, Naeemah, a young black woman who attended predominantly white schools all her life, gets expelled from Yale University during her junior year, and transfers to Howard University. Shortly after her arrival, she realizes the grass isn't always greener on the other side; even amongst her own people, she still feels out of place.”
