3D printers have come a long way over the past several years, but the process of bed leveling remain...
Cloud Your Car housing samples - 3D printers comparison
Just yesterday we have received 3 pieces of housing for Cloud Your Car plug, of course it flew to us straight from China. What do you think about it? Should we approve the housing or should we refuse it? These China sample proofs have been printed on 3D printer in amazing quality. Check the housing development process and earlier versions. Can you see any differences?
Face to face comparison:
1. Mind Sailors project:
We loved it from the very beginning, tiny, elegant, nice in touch, userfriendly with a bling bling element.
2. First samples.
We could show you, but looks really poor so we don't ;).
3. SLS rapid prototyping in e-prototypy, Wrocław
These samples were much more detailed than we expected, we could feel the surface grains but basically great for checking as a first version. Unfortunately it is not a long life sample, easy to crush or damage when opening and closing a lot. Here painted black, but originally white.
4. Redesigned housing from e-protoypy - Black edition for Alpha tests.
The quality was definitely better than in white edition so we could use it in Alpha tests among Cloud Your Car team members. Why these housing are better? Looks nicer in the car lighter.
5. Housing - the final sample
Printed on a high-end 3D printer and covered with varnish. We could still notice grains and white color inside the housing, but in compare to the very beginning - wow!
In the final housing version, the one that would be tested in Beta, the housing is going to be more mat, but we couldn't resist to keep some bling-bling too. *Keep scrolling...
