3 Idiots
Three Idiots, the movie, which I could not forget because of the lesson and reflection of the society especially the education system nowadays. By the way, this movie is directed by Rajkumar Hirani year 2009 Bollywood films, starring Aamir Khan as Ranchoddas “Rancho” Shamaldas Chanchad or Chhote or Phunsukh Wangdu, R. Madhavan as Farhan Qureshi and Sharman Joshi as Raju Rastogi featuring Kareena Kapoor as Pia Sahasrabudde. Thanks to them for opening our minds to the possibilities and inspiring us to achieve our goals and dreams. I’ve seen this movie once with my classmates and I didn’t get the concept because we are all laughing, but if you watch it alone, you will experience the roller coaster emotion effect due to voicing out the real voice of the students. So now, I will share the highlighted story and reflection of each three characters in the movie and at the end, I will choose the character that reflects my life.
Ranchoddas “Rancho” Shamaldas Chanchad is the main character of the story because of his brilliant personal philosophy, especially in education. He also possesses the “think outside the box” mindset and being an optimistic and passionate student. His story goes like this to avoid confusion: His real name is Chhote when he was a child and Phunsukh Wangdu when he becomes the great scientist. He is the son of the gardener who works in the family of the real Ranchoddas “Rancho” Shamaldas Chanchad. He entered the school of Rancho by wearing his old school uniform. Chhote wasn’t caught by the guards at first and he continues on studying the subjects, making the assignment and answering the exams of the real Rancho, both of them benefited. Until Chhote gained the attention of one of the teachers in the school, he solves the tenth-grade math on the board when he is a sixth-grader. Before the teacher will report it to the faculty, he was called by the father of Chanchad, he is a powerful businessman. Chanchad’s father was happy about the potential and works of Chhote, he makes a deal with the teacher that their school must accept Chhote and become an engineer.
After four years, Rancho was sent to the London by his father’s will and Chhote was accepted in ICE or Imperial College of Engineering, a very well-known university in India, as Ranchoddas “Rancho” Shamaldas. He just uses Ranchoddas “Rancho” Shamaldas as his name. He appeared at the university hostel to start his schooling, but he noticed that the people are doing the weird ritual. In fact, the first years were bullied by the higher years, but he always whispers “All is well”. He tricked his seniors and quickly run to his dorm, locks the door and catching his breath. The bully terrorized him by counting 1-10 and he will pee at his door every semester. Instead of riding the fear, he recreates the eight-grade physics. So what he did was he connects the spoon to the wire and tap the spoon to the ruler and he put this outside the door. The bully screams in pain because of electrocution, salt water is a great conductor of electricity example of this is urine. They all laugh and Rancho gets his water bottle outside. From the crowds, Farhan and Raju witnessed the event, impressed towards Rancho's ability to implement basic junior high knowledge about electricity in real life. From that scenario, I learn a lot, we must not fear and ride with the problem, instead, we must stand and fight the problem by creating ideas. Connecting the Technopreneurship, Here in Davao, the problem is the development of IT industry is as slow paced. To improve this, we must develop or innovate our system and us, IT, mus not go with the flow of the brain drain system. Small startups can create large companies and through companies, we help our society.
Next day, freshmen were summoned at the dorm lobby because of Mr. Viru Sahastrabudhe aka “Virus” will share a very interesting story about the koel bird and the astronaut pen. Mr. Viru starts to speak about koel bird and he relates it to the ICE entrance exam. He stated that entering in this institution is about the survival of the fittest, immediately hit the box full of failed entrance exams. Students remain silent and Virus continues. Virus immediately raised his pen and starts to share the background of it. Silencer, one of the students who wants the pen, quickly raised his hand when Virus ask them who want this pen. After the students raised their hands, Rancho raises his hand and state his question, “Why would scientist spend millions for creating a space pen, while they could use a pencil to write on space where they could save billions?” Mr. Virus was stunned at his question, driving him mad, he leaves the dormitory without a word. Relating college life in USeP, it's quite the same. Most of the Mindanao students are aiming to school in USeP because of the quality education that the school provides but only the best are selected to proceed. Questioning is not bad, just put your question in the right time, but those people whose pride is immeasurable then must answer the question that is being thrown at them. It’s bad to feel bad for those innocent people questioning the point of your perspective because not all the times we are correct. This is the beginning of Mr. Virus's hatred to Rancho.
During engineering class, Rancho was smiling and inspired, which the professor annoyed by his point of smiling, that’s why he was asked to define the word machine. He got along and defined it in the simplest term, giving out many models, including the fan and his pant zipper. His explanation, however, is heavily rejected by the teacher, the teacher expected Rancho to explain it from the book definition because you can’t explain it outside like playing the zipper. He proceeded on to ask Chatur the same inquiry and is afforded a complete definition from the script. Rancho who felt that his instructor is being unfair said that he's 'explaining the same matter, only with simpler terms', thinking that it's pointless to blindly cram a bookish definition, the teacher denied this, supposing that 'if you're proceeding to distinguish it in bare terms, then go and study communication arts. Rancho tried to throw out an argument, which results with him being 'kicked out' of class, but it didn't carry him long to walk back into class as he claimed that he forgot something. His teacher took him approximately the thing he forgot and Rancho replied by making a full and complete definition of a single item - a book. When the teacher asked, “Why don't you say it simply?” Rancho mentioned that he tried it earlier, but it didn't work. After that, the story switches to Joy Lobo, who at the time begs for Mr. Virus for extending his project deadline since he spends his first 2 months worrying about his father who suffers from a stroke. His rejection is denied, and instead Mr. Virus directive tells Joy's father that his son won't be graduating this year. Devastated, Joy throws away his project and Rancho, upon watching the scene contains the unfinished project and develops it during his extra time with Raju and Farhan while preparing for trials, doing home works, and finishing school work at the same time. In the busiest of times, Rancho encouraged his friends by saying that "All is well". Rancho always reminds himself, “All is well” because tricking your heart helps you to do things well and calm. Their hard work continued until Joy's machine can function properly as a flying hidden camera. Rancho wants to surprise Joy with his finished project by flying it into Joy's room window, only to find Joy's corpse hanging in front of the bedroom window. During the funeral, Rancho approached the director, Mr. Virus about the situation and told him that it is not a suicide, it’s a murder. I really like how Rancho explain the point that engineers are a genius, but they didn’t create a device that could measure the pressure and stress of the student because Schools treat it as a normal thing like eating or taking a bath. Students have different personalities; someone can handle stress, someone that is forced to take steps to the family and much more. Rancho see’s it that there is something wrong occurring in the system.
On the next day, Rancho was called into the director’s office for accusing Mr. Virus about the death of Joy. Rancho explained it well that he’s not accusing anyone for the cause of Joy’s death, but for something, the education system. He is implying that the system has just murdered Joy. Sensing a challenge, Mr. Virus asked Rancho if is there a better teaching method that the ICE education system. He drags Rancho to the engineering class to show them how to teach engineering, including Mr. Virus. Rancho remains silent and started to write two words on the blackboard, 'Farhanitrate' and 'Prerajulization'. He challenges them to search the words and the students participate and compete for each other, they cram and pressured to find the words until the time is finished. He asked if anyone among the students is feeling intrigued or curious instead of pressure from the competition. Rancho then revealed that the two words written on the board are not words, but are his two roommate's name Farhan and Raju. This enraged Mr. Virus, even more, causing him to say that Rancho is supposed to teach engineering class, not philosophy. Rancho gets back to him, saying that he's not teaching engineering either, he was simply teaching the Director How to teach. Most of the universities stick to their goals, to create well-furnished graduates. Loaded with 3 – 4 hours of class every day to feed the students with information, trying to approach the reality without considering the pressure and stress that the student carries. Just like Joy, in the movie, he is a genius and he understands the lessons and the applications, but because of the strictness that the director prevails, he died. Having an education system like that promotes well-trained graduates and not well-educated graduates. The difference between well trained and well educated mind is that well trained mind is good at something specific, as long as they spend the hours required to internalize the knowledge, while, well-educated mind is capable of reducing the burden of training for any skill and the logic and reasoning is better implemented in real life situation, in complements vocation. We always follow the books, memorizing the formula and terms or familiarizing program concepts, resulting in learning a small portion of the real problem. Schools, not just universities, must bring the real-life concept to develop a new generation of students. I remember my professor, wherein he creates a way to learn the real-life approach to the problem. He wants us to learn inside and outside the school premises to open our minds to the possibilities and remove ignorance because in the school you learn the basic attribute, while, outside you learn the actual things in the job or the advance attribute.
This character is a great influence, why? Because he shares his personal philosophy that could change the system of the people, especially the way people think and act. He stands with the risk and not afraid to deal with it even if it is complicated. Possessing the smart and 'out of the box' thinking helps to get out the difficult situation like Rancho because of creating unique solutions to answer the problem. Besides his brilliant philosophy, Rancho is also an optimistic and passionate student. His quote “All is well” is one of the driving force of the movie, which can be seen on a lot of occasions. Despite his smartness and passion, Rancho was quite innocent in terms of love. Throughout the movie, he thought that the nose might 'get in the way' when two people kiss. He also got confused in handling a drunken Pia who is trying to give him her father's office key, but ends up attempting a kiss on him. He is the only unique and unforgettable person in the movie not because of his attitude but because of his heart. He is that kind of person who is ready to sacrifice anything for his friends and friends family. From being accused as the black sheep person of Fahran family and the burden of Raju’s study to the point of changing their passion in life. Nowadays, it is very rare to see and friend a person like Rancho because most of the people are influenced by the dynamic changing of the society, they follow the trend of the crowd. I always remember this lesson from my philosophy teacher, she said that crowd is not a lethal poison, but once you acquire its personality, it starts to cripple your inner self.
Farhan Qureshi is the second character of 3 idiots the movie. Farhan is the type of person who easily believes his friends; he always keeps his trust and faith to Raju and Rancho. He is also the observer, listener and the most concern of the group. To start my reflection in this character, let's talk about his story and relate it to real life. The story started with Farhan in the India airlines flight from Delhi going to his destination for work. Chatur Ramalingam, who feels he is very successful because of his current job as the Vice president of the company, phone called Farhan informing him to go to the college at 8 am to meet Rancho, his best friend. Farhan is too late to cancel his flight, he decided to act having a heart attack. The pilot decided to go back to the emergency of Farhan, now, while bearing the fake disease, he jumps out of the wheelchair. Before the doctors could speak, he runs away, pretending he recover easily. Outside the airport, he convinced the taxi driver that he is Joginder Dhillon, without any proven ID, the taxi driver was easily convinced. The taxi driver convinced him to go to his hotel, but Farhan tells him to stop at the Vassant Vihar to pick up Raju Rastogi. He asked the taxi driver to stop at the Imperial College of Engineering, after that, now that the taxi driver realized he was tricked. After running to Chatur, they expected Rancho but they didn’t see him. Angered about being deceived, Farhan smashes the bottle of rum and charge at Chatur but Rajo stops him. Chatur explained the reason of calling Farhan because of the deal that he and Rancho agree on September 5. Chatur boasts all his riches that he earned, deceiving them for his own purpose. When Chatur finally said that he went to Shimla Farhan, sat in the car starting to reminisce the memories, especially the director's quote that “life is a race”. Based on that situation, I realized that being wise is good, but being wiser is better. Mostly, in our life, there are things that are more valuable than anything, especially the things that have a great impact in your life whenever it is ups or downs. Like Farhan, he cancels his flight and job, for their friendship’s sake, because Rancho changes their entire life and the family. For me, it is different to experience heavy friendship relationship. It doesn’t matter who you are in the society and it is not valuing them for the sake of something. It matters on how you value your life and your friend’s life by influencing them the right choice. I also realized that life is a race if you’re not contented with what you have in life. Like Mr. Virus, for him, life is a race because every time someone exceeds him, he competes to the point of bringing himself back to the top again. Because of that, he influences Chatur’s mindset to gain more than what he has, only he values things what he achieves and can be achieved more. Most of us have the same characteristics of Mr. Virus and Chatur, not contented of what they possess, they seek more, hungry for what they call “Success”. It’s not bad to gain more than what you have as long as you personally contented of gaining it. The problem in our society, why people treat life as a race because of comparing themselves with the others. The attainment of the other people matters to them than what they attain and once they attain it, they call it “Success”. See, because of the pride that they bare. They think being called or viewed as the highest gives them success and it is a big NO! That is one of the characteristics of the unsuccessful person. For me, success is defined as being contented with what you have as long as you are happy with what you are doing like Rancho.
Farhan reminisces their college life. Farhan was born in 1976, 5:30 pm. Suddenly, after birth, his father said, “My son will be an engineer.” Their parents had thought, if we get a daughter, she'll be a doctor and if we get a son, he'll be an engineer. Though he had a passion for wildlife photography, he pursued engineering to appease his dad. And his fate is sealed. He enrolled in ICE or Imperial College of Engineering the famous school in India in terms of engineering study. On the next day, The college maid Man Mohan, who's was always called Millimeter came to Farhan and asked him for his room number which was D 26. Upon going to his room, he takes some camera shots at the cute animal that they saw. After they arrive, He met Raju Rastogi in his room. As Millimeter was telling jokes about Raju while he was praying to god, he sent him out. Millimeter told them to wear their best underwear tonight, which made them very confused. Suddenly the gang appeared and weird rituals are done to the freshmen, it highlights Rancho’s moment of how he defeats the gang leader by using eight physics. Later on, Rancho was called by Farhan's parent because of influencing his son that leads to earning low grades in engineering; he provides everything so that Farhan could focus on studying. Rancho easily diverted the topic, he suggests Farhan pursue wildlife photography which also leads to disrespecting Farhan’s father’s decision. In this situation, parents must not decide their child’s future because it could cause a deficiency in progress. The child may finish the course or the track, but they are not happy about gaining it. Like Farhan, his parents are the one who decides his future steps and the result, he failed in attaining it. In real life, most of the parents suggest some course, because of the pre-benefits like pre-salary, while schooling you to earn money, like my father. When I was in fourth high school, my father suggests that I should take PMA instead of architecture, engineering or IT because of the salary. He said that before I graduate in PMA, I earn money and government benefits. He added no need to worry in terms of paper and enrolling because my father has lots of connections in the army and the police department. I tried to voice out my dream course, which is IT because I want to become a programmer or web designer someday, even though I earn less in that job as long as I’m happy, but my father is very disappointed on what I say. He compares the earning of IT and army, he rants about the choice I made. He said, “Ma-call center raka ana! Gamay kayo ug sweldo!” I forget what he said and pursue my dreams; he’s not the one who will suffer my future. I don’t care if he shames me in front of the guest or my aunts and uncles or cousins. The reason why he wants me to become an army because of the pride that he has. Both my brother and I didn’t follow his course choice, but instead the course we love. My brother has now been a 5th-year civil engineering in USeP and I’m a 3rd-year information technology in USeP. We are happy with our course and we are still moving forward. The reason why parents decide the fate of their child because of the unfinished dreams, salary and the pride. Once you force your child to be someone or your future reflection. They can’t perform well, they always lost in class rank or maybe they stop what they are doing. Most of my classmates in the 4th year high school have experienced the effect. They constantly change schools or courses. My advice to those parents, who decide for their children, let them discover what they want and who they want. Support them in failures, don’t push them. Help them build their own future.
“He has a life, He’s not a machine.” After Farhan spent ages negotiating with his dad, his dad agreed for Farhan to be a wildlife photographer. He decided not go for his job interview and tell dad that he doesn't want to be an engineer because Rancho suggested. His dad thought he was playing with his mind and dad thought he was a hero of melodrama. Later he decided to stop discussing this so Farhan wouldn’t copy Raju’s suicide. This is the part wherein I’m touched emotionally. My tears are continuously running and I empty the tissue box of my mother. Touched because I remember the time my father accepts my decision. He supported me by providing the things I needed in my course. He begs sorry for the things that he did to me. Now, I forget the pain and emotional stress that I experience and I fully accept my father’s sorry. Sometimes our parents don't understand what we feel. We always listen to them and follow them because they know the right thing. We always remember the saying “Papunta ka palang, pabalik na ako.” Yes, it's true that our parents have the immeasurable experience than us, but we need to share with them the feelings that we feel in our path, they are not perfect to sense what you feel.
The thing that I like about Farhan is that he is an observant person and highly respects his friend’s point of view. He said, “That day we learned, when your friend flunks, you feel bad, when he tops, you feel worse.” I always feel what Farhan said because there are times that we are challenging each other and you want to be on top or next to them. Relating it to my batchmates, the year 2014, we compete on gaining the highest score in quizzes and exam. Every after the exam, we compare our scores and sometimes, inevitably, I got a low score, but I do not accuse my friends. Instead, I ask them about some tips on attaining it. For example, we are trained by our professor to do machine problems to increase our critical thinking skills. Sometimes I got it, but I envy my classmate who always gets it. See, that’s how genius she is. By the way, she’s running CumLaude in our college. But because of that, I realized that we have our own weaknesses and strengths. The limitation is not a hindrance, to prosper in our life. It is ourselves, which is hard to discipline. Farhan said, “Today my respect for that idiot shot up. Most of us went to college just for a degree. No degree meant no plum job, no pretty wife, no credit card, no social status. But none of this mattered to him, he was in college for the joy of learning, he never cared if he was first or last.” I always respect my friends the way Farhan respect Rancho, especially friends that always concern in your life. “No man is an island” no one is self-sufficient, we always rely on one another. That’s why friends are important, but upon selecting friends in the society, it takes time. Nowadays, friendship occurs as gaining the benefit of someone. Fake friends are toxic to the society because it doesn’t show importance, but it creates parasite system. Friends are important because it helps you to share ideas and personal feelings, especially to vent your stress and solve personal problems like Rancho. For me, Rancho is like my best friend. My best friend is so wise and she influences me to be wise in life, wise in a right way. She also changes my perception of understanding a situation like the personal attitude of the people because I’m an introvert person and I don’t like to talk so much. Always remember, friends are next to your family. Treat them special while you are with them because of the moment that all of you are pursuing different goals, it is the time your friendship will fade. Friendships may end by fading quietly away or may end suddenly. How and whether to talk about the end of a friendship is a matter of etiquette that depends on the circumstances.
Raju Rastogi is the third character of 3 idiots the movie. Raju is the type of person who believes in God to make his life according to what he expected. Among the three, he is the very weak person due to some personal problems that he experienced and his story reflects some of the student life here in the Philippines. His story of encountering more dilemma goes like this. After Rancho tutors how to teach and not engineering. Being pissed off by Rancho, suddenly, Mr. Virus decided to inform the parents of Farhan and Raju that they belong to the wrong company. After being invited, lectured and denied by Farhan’s father, the three proceed to Raju’s house. Raju’s house was straight from out of a 50’s black and white film. Composed of a small dingy room, a paralyzed father, a coughing mother, and an unwed sister. With a sofa sprouting springs, a 24-hour water supply from the leaking roof. His mother was a retired school teacher and a tireless complainer. His father was once a postmaster, paralysis shuts down his body partly and his salary completely. His sister, Kammo's turned 28 and they demanded an auto dowry (According to India’s culture of what is dowry, dowry refers to the durable goods, cash, and real or movable property that the bride's family gives to the bridegroom, his parents, or his relatives as a condition of the marriage. Their culture is somewhat the same here in the Philippines). Raju is the hope of their family to escape poverty because when Raju graduates they could offer dowry to wed his sister and buy food and medicine for his paralyzed father and for the family. Raju feels the awkwardness for blaming his friends and showing their family status. His mother mumble, “Earn for the family, slave like a maid and then take the vow of silence” smashing the food at the food processor. She added, “If not with my son, with whom do I share my woes – his friends?” Raju felt disrespected for what he hears and suddenly walk out. Rancho and Farhan felt the dilemma; they don’t know who to approach. Whether Raju’s mother or Raju himself. Nowadays, families are investing to their children. Investing in a point of providing everything for their child’s future like Raju. Poverty is common here in the Philippines and our family is one of the sufferers. My parents are investing in us, a long-term investment that we and my parent's benefits, even though we suffer down-to-earth problem to point of loaning some money and encountering more personal problems like health but we still persist that poverty is not a hindrance to our success and I can prove it! Right now, our financial situation is full of loans and we use “Bali-Bali system” to pay our loans. Our family’s income is from my father’s retirement and small transportation business (sometimes breakeven occurs in our business). Full of loans, because of renovating our old house and breakeven of the business will force us to lessen our personal needs. We are still holding on the rope of success, it is better to experience financial problem than stealing from someone to have money. Sometimes, the crime of stealing was happening because of poverty, why? Because they are forced to adopt the mindset of “Money = Everything” when everything is empty. In my own opinion, families are the foundation of the society. The attitudes or the characteristics of the child are greatly influenced by the parent's mindset, on how they nurture their children’s characteristics. The shown characteristics of the child will reflect on how the parents value them. I feel bad for the family of Raju and Farhan, they easily judge Rancho as the problem of earning a low mark based on what Mr. Virus wrote to them. They didn’t even ask about Rancho’s opinion or the explanation of what they do in the school to receive such a note. I remember my classmate in high school who include us in his prank. His prank becomes a school year’s highlight because it happens on the special day of the school, Intramurals and Foundation Day. Our intramural and foundation day are united as one-week celebration. So he pranks my Physics teacher by surprising him at the faculty. My physics teacher accidentally spoils his coffee at his coat, which will be used in the latter's speech. The teacher reported what happen at the dean’s office and my classmate includes me and my best friend at his prank because of the game truth or dare. Our parents receive the letter and called their attention at the guidance counselor. Unlike Raju, my parents didn’t blame my friends for committing such an action. Instead, they laugh at the problem and share some words of wisdom to propel our schooling. At the moment when Raju’s mother mumbled, “Earn for the family, slave like a maid and then take the vow of silence.” It revolves inside my mind and it emphasizes the mother’s care about his child. Voicing my opinion, we should value our parent's care and support because wasting it is wasting their effort. Some of the Filipino youth are wasting their time and money through bad habits like drugs and much more. I feel sad for those parents who work abroad because they can’t monitor their children’s action. I remember my brother’s friend, his father is an overseas Filipino worker, he always sneaks thief his parents and doesn’t care what’s the effect of his action. I feel bad for what he have done to his parents. We should matter what they’ve done to us because they expected to have a good future, it is the result of blood and sweat working overtime. See, they are ready to sacrifice anything for their children and us, youth, must understand them. We can see, touch and rant to our parents, but we can’t always company time.
After the gang reprimanded by their parents, they ruined Pia’s sister’s wedding. Later on, Raju and Farhan were called to the Virus office to discuss why Rancho is fooling around because of having a rich father. Virus gives some tips to them to not be influenced by Rancho and leave him alone. Also, Virus recommended transferring to Chatur’s room for the convenience of studying. Raju decided to transfer into Chatur’s room as a result of realizing his family status and convenient for learning. Chatur is popping pills from local quacks to enhance his grades and crammed 18 hours a day to attain his goals, to be the number one in the class. He believes that there are two ways of topping: elevate your own grades or shrink your opponent’s grade by distracting them. While Chatur is distracting his classmates by sliding porn magazines under their door, Rancho sees him and decided to subdue Chatur aka Silencer to rescue Raju. With the master plan of Rancho and Farhan, they changed Chatur’s introductory speech resulting to denounce Mr. Virus in front of Minister of Education and ripping Chatur’s reputation. In a good side, they’ve saved Raju from being influenced by Chatur but still he doesn’t get it. Afterward, Raju’s father got hospitalize with the help of Rancho’s ideas. Raju heard what the doctor said and realized what he has done to his friends. Crying to his action and confess his inner reflection to Rancho and Farhan. He was just scared and Rancho and Farhan accept it. Next day, late on examination day, they trick their professor just to accept their papers by shuffling the examination papers. On the result day, Raju is praying to Gods to let him pass the examination. Informed by the results of examination and ranking, they take a class photo to show the ranking and students who passed the exam. In this situation, I learned to be strong. For me, strong means to stand against the problem. Raju is easily influenced by the others. He didn’t look for his own decision but for the family, he is ready to turn back his friends. The moment Raju confessed to his gang mates, it was so emotional to that point that I’m crying and reminiscing the past moments of my life. I remember my fourth-year high school retreat program, there’s a part of the program where we confess our doings to our classmates and friends. We are all crying not because of the ambiance but because of helping each other to graduate, not by cheating but by teamwork. That’s the greatest moment I cannot forget because of the lessons that we learn from our teachers. We spend hundreds of time creating the project got rejected, studying more than 5 hours got failed scores and believing 11:11 to approve our wishes. Experiencing everything to achieve our goals. I also realized that, put God first in your life. I’m not realizing it because of the movie but I realized it always. In India, it is common to them to pray different Gods because they follow the beliefs of Hinduism. Here in the Philippines, we are known as one of the catholic countries in the world. Put God first, it is basic and understandable that there uncontrollable things happening in our life. For me, with God, life is easy and comfortable even though huge problems exist both family and academic problems. I’m not promoting religious ethics here but I want to share my opinion in believing God. Sometimes we question ourselves like why is this happening to me? Am I a cursed child, to deserved this situation? Some of us are afraid of the future. Like Raju, he is praying to Gods, wearing rings to attract luck and to make his life according to what he is thinking. Until Raju realizes that it is not the Gods or the rings who mess our future, it is the education system of their college and because of that, he was illuminated. Nearly all of us believe God, we pray every day and follow religious culture. But the problem in our society is we pray, we encounter a huge problem and we blame God. I’m not generalizing the crowd, but some of us are like that. Other’s blame Him as the suspect of messing their life. Be like Raju, do not follow his suicidal act, but follow how he understands the life in his own perspective. We should not blame anyone, not the Gods or the rings that didn’t give luck, but we should focus on the future. We don't know what the future holds. It may be your rest day or your party day. Instead of blaming, we should be thanking God as the one who gives us life and problems to learn the important lessons of it.
Lastly, After Raju got healed in his suicidal act. He realized his life’s perspective and got a job interview from the greatest company in India. In the interview, he was asked for the reason of having the consistent poor marks. He stated the reason and the company reacts to his frank behavior because it is not good for their firm and they prefer someone who is diplomatic in nature to handle their customers. Rejecting his papers, the company still make a deal, but he needs to control his attitude. Raju still believes his own perspective than changing it to be accepted in the company. Raju said, “You keep your job… I’ll keep my attitude. ” At the end, the company sees his inner self and they accepted Raju. We must be like Raju, be who you are. Some of us are not showing who they are, showing their inner self. Especially when we are getting jobs, people would talk fake words just to show that they should be on the job or in the company. Interview in getting jobs are not about what you're good at college, it is about your attitude if you are fit for the job and workplace of your job. Don’t be afraid if people will judge or humiliate you, just be yourself, stick to your attitude. Remember, “Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” - George Bernard Shaw
Among the three characters, I prefer Rancho because of his determination to learn new things and value friendship in life. Also, a great thinker that solves the problem using outside the box ideas. He always reminds himself that every problem he encounters is “All is well.” And lastly, because of his personal philosophy that greatly influence people and could change the system.
All is well…
