Astrology Observations: Synastry Edition 🌞
Sun in the 8th house synastry is such a powerful and intense synastry to have regardless of it being platonic or romantic. There’s often an element of mystery, fascination, and intrigue here. Both the Sun and 8th house person usually feel immediately drawn to each other when they first meet. Having experienced this synastry a few times in my life and having been the house person, I can say that I have naturally gravitated towards and felt a deep connection with each person who has had their Sun in my 8th house. However, it is important to note that this type of 8th house synastry may play out differently. Your experiences can depend on the sign that is in your 8th house, the other placements in your chart, whether or not you have 8th house placements yourself, and the other aspects you have in synastry with the other person, etc.
When you have your Venus in another person's 8th house, the 8th house person will often find you very attractive, beautiful, and alluring in some way. This can manifest as them having a strong physical attraction towards you, but this synastry doesn't always solely translate to physical attraction. It can also manifest as the 8th house person having an admiration for the Venus person's beauty and/or being fascinated by their emotional depth. Overall, both people will usually find each other magnetic and intriguing.
3rd house synastry and 7th house synastry combined can make for a very fun dynamic, especially when the Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in these houses between the two people. For example, let's say Person 1 has their Sun in Person 2's 3rd house. This synastry can indicate the 3rd house person sees the Sun person as a great conversationalist, someone who is intelligent, mentally stimulating, well-rounded, and knows a lot about various topics and can teach them many new things. In the same example, imagine Person 2 has their Sun in Person 1's 7th house. The Sun person (Person 2) may come across as very social, charming, and affable to the 7th house person (Person 1) and may even be their ideal friend, romantic partner, or business partner. Because the 3rd house and 7th house are both air houses, I feel having both houses especially in these personal planets in synastry often emphasizes a strong mental connection and shared values between the two people.
Neptune conjunct Descendant in synastry can show the Descendant person feeling like the Neptune person is their dream guy or dream girl. The Descendant person could also believe the Neptune person is extraordinary or out of this world and unlike their previous crushes and lovers. They could immediately want to commit to them. However, the Descendant person needs to be mindful of their tendency to idealize and ignore the realities or even the red flags of the Neptune person.
You might feel like the person you have Mercury conjunct Moon in synastry with can read your mind and understand you in ways no else can, especially if you’re the Mercury person in this synastry. The Moon person could easily pick up on the emotions of the Mercury person and be able to read in between the lines whenever they interact. This is the synastry where you see one person asking the other, “What’s wrong? You’re not yourself today.” I feel this synastry would be less likely to experience conflict, however you’d also need to look at the other synastry aspects between both individuals’ moons to see if that would be the case or not.
You’ll likely have great communication and learn a lot of new things with friends and partners when you have both 3rd house synastry and multiple positive aspects between you and that person’s Mercury placement and vice versa. This is especially true when their Sun, Moon, Mercury, or even Jupiter lands in your 3rd house. For aspects, this could look like your Mercury forming a conjunction to their Jupiter and their Jupiter forming a trine to your Mercury. I actually have these placements in synastry with a friend of mine and I feel like I’m always learning something new when we talk to each other, even more so because her Sun is in my 3rd house.
A friend or partner who has their Mercury in your 2nd house can boost your self-esteem and confidence, help ground you, and make you aware of the ways in which you could improve yourself and your life.
