Love on Love
Lost in love and not for lust,
All that I had come to trust,
Dust.
Not swept under any rug,
rather left accumulating in a pile,
It took a while but I had realized,
Vision blurred like infants eyes,
Many a night passed by,
heavy tears with no cries,
drenched cheeks that slowly dried,
heavy heart that never died,
It was something at first sight,
Hell the second and third too,
Knew no name or affiliation,
But there was something my eyes knew,
That grew, doubled too, nearly tripled but that blew,
with the wind as I grinned and stayed attentive to the detail,
years of time put into it just to watch it derail,
But look in the drivers seat at who's humming Man in the mirror,
So at the end of it all it was me,
Opportunity afoot and let it go because of belief,
more so on faith, so the best bet was escape,
Was good while it thrived, time away kept it alive,
Seems thoughts soaked up the love,
but time was where it dried.
Still in hope for a chance, leapt out for a dance,
turned away at a glance, cracked deep like a lance,
expressed the soul to the tee as best as one could muster,
looked love in the pupils as defeat spewed from the tongue of,
a man, blown away by the news but stronger from the experience,
Got over the situation and came back from delirium.
Put his hand out to touch another, heart open to the world,
Dug up his loss from the grave and did it to the next girl.
….self, did you learn nothing?
