Food Truck Feast Tonight - Live!
Hi I'm Wes, I'm a pescatarian, and I'm going to be sharing my experiences about tonight's 3rd-in-the-Burg Food Truck Feast!
One of the things my partner and I love to do is explore new places to eat, but in this area, that can be hard sometimes. For a little over 5 years now, she and I certainly have not exhausted our city's options, but we've definitely grown stale on the majority of nearby selections.
That's why we're really excited for the 3rd in the Burg's Food Truck Feast!
Tonight's the first of the series for the city's monthly 3rd in the Burg night. The food truck feast runs every third Friday through October at 1601 N. Third St. in downtown Harrisburg.
Tonight's kick-off will feature a live band, and is scheduled to include 7 different food trucks, including Mad Sandwhiches, Up in Smoke, Forno Inferno, and more.
The weather has been warming up lately, but a chill has been keeping summer in check, so I'm a little skeptical that Harrisburgians will be out in force tonight, but regardless- I'm excited to try new eats!
Looking over some of the food truck's preview menu items, I see a big emphasis on meat, which is always a bit discouraging, but (especially) in this area I've grown accustomed to that.
What I'm most excited for tonight, is Mad Sandwhiches' fish tacos. Being half Honduran, tacos feel like an essential part of me. I've struggled to find tacos that balance my mother's home-cooking style with fish and other authentic flavors. I doubt Mad Sandwhiches will deliver, but I've been pleasantly surprised before.
Reading up about tonight, I've learned that Mad Sandwhiches took on the hosting responsibiities for the event, and I'm very excited to see what's to come.
I'll be live-blogging from 6:00-7:00p tonight, right in the heart of the festivities, and I'll try to capture the kick-off feast for you! Bon Appetit!
