@3rdofthethird said: So this is the human girl that the Lieutenant - no, the Captain now - had rescued. He's still a bit unsure what to think of her, after seeing what all had gone down. He hasn't really had the chance to speak with her yet, given the circumstances, despite being only one rank below her. This is a bit odd, though, to be fulfilling the duties of a Lieutenant in her stead. Izuru had always handled that sort of thing before, so now... It's odd. "You aren't quite... What I had expected."
~*~ The human girl hadn't really spoken to anyone else in the Third Division since she'd gotten there. She was still wary around people she didn't know and now that she was forbidden from entering the Third she'd been even further from trying to speak with those she didn't know. Emerald eyes shone a sliver of surprise in them as she'd hear the words. She turned on her heel to look at him. He was taller, not by that much but to Kaisa she felt small.
"I apologize." Were the first words out of her mouth. What else was she to say? Kaisa was ashamed of what transpired and she was still afraid of the look on Kira's face as he'd locked her away twice. The look haunted her.
Kaisa's gaze dropped as she chewed her bottom lip. She swallowed hard and tried to meet his eyes.
"I know now I should have behaved better. I'm sorry that you are stuck with my duties because of it." Kaisa finally said. Her voice was soft, not even downplaying the shame she felt.

--- “No, it’s-- I’m supposed to--” He starts gathering pages and pages of work on his desk, keeping his hands on them as though to protect them from those that might want to take them from him. He does not want to share the burden. The burden is comfortable, in a way. And the work is a perfect distraction from- Well... From his reality. From the empty desk just a few feet away in the other room..
“it’s okay, Rikuu, really. I’ve got this..” Frazzled though he may be, he does not want help, not even from his third seat.
Pauses as he walks by Izuru's desk, then reaches to lightly run his fingers through his Lieutenant's hair for just a moment. "You should take a break."
---He had been so engulfed in his work, so utterly stressed from the pressures upon him as an assistant captain { he hadn’t even dared touch Ichimaru-taichou’s desk, though, still seated at his own } that he had not even noticed Rikuu’s approach. The subsequent fingers in his hair send a shiver down his spine, and he jolts a little. Upon focusing, he recognises the reiatsu immediately. Especially paired with that calm voice.
He registers exactly which words have been spoken to him a few beats later. He shakes his head in response. “I can’t. There is so much to do..” He is drowning.. Though that possibly has more to do with the inefficiency of his methods than with the workload itself. He keeps spacing out in the middle of tasks, or panicking, needing a few minutes to { privately and discreetly } calm himself down before he can continue his work..
Rikuu means well, he knows. But.. He has no time for breaks.
He follows after Asuka calmly, raising one brow in response after watching the Lieutenant storm off. "Which would help more? A spar, a drink, or some rough sex?"
“i wanna kill ‘im...”
asuka flexes his injured hand restlessly, the violent energy waning slightly into a hot smolder that sits in his gut. he doesn’t want of the suggestions, he just wants to slice off that smiling mask and expose the vile reality underneath.
but that’s not going to happen, so he takes a few slowed breaths and deliberately relaxes his grasp. what he needs right now is to get away from third, ichimaru, and izuru. as protective of his lieutenant as asuka is, there’s no way he’s going to be able to be near the blonde without doing something else stupid right now.
another deeper, more controlled breath and he faces rikū, brow still tense but less knitted than earlier. “lets get drunk ‘til we pass ou’.”

~*~ The young human let go of his sleeve as soon as he'd spoken. She looked up at him, those haunted emerald eyes of hers calm. Kaisa chewed on the inside of her bottom lip, unsure how she was going to broach the subject. Instead of trying to find the right words she took a breath and parted her thin lips.
"I know Kira doesn't want me to do any type of work until I'm given an all clear from Miss Akane. I feel bad that you and Kira are picking up my slack," she took another breath, steeling herself for his response to her next words, "let me do some of the work. I promise I won't overwork myself."
She'd done a lot of thinking to approach him, especially after the fact that he probably saw her be thrown in a cell at least once, if not both of the times.
"Please don't tell Kira. I don't want him to get angry with me again."
A very dirty look is sent his way. "No, you most certainly /may not/ take the week off. Izuru works hard enough as it is without you slacking off even more than you already do."
aww, c’mon....
“‘zuru outranks ya. tha’ means ‘is decision wins.”
