Lesson 7: Capital C

1. Draw a big C and colour it together

- use playdo and decorate the C

- what does C look like?

- draw a caterpillar on the C

2. Get a few round items from around the house. Eg. Coin, bowl

- trace around to make a circle

- trace around to make a C

3. Hide and seek

- hide words starting with a C.

- give hints and let your lo be a detective

- find the hidden words, c for caterpillar, c for cat, c for cake, c for car

- count the words

4. Play with words

- act out and play with the C words, repeating C for ...

5. Play with flour and get messy

- you could also draw C's if you like!

Lesson 5: Number 1 with Paper mache

1. Make one with paper mache

-get messy and have fun with newspaper, glue and water

-color it when it's dry

2. Have many things laid out

-identify how many of each thing there is. Identify 1 thing and other numbers

3. Play with alphabet foam tiles.

- Find an item that starts with that letter and place it on the tile. Eg. Apple on A, etc.

Lesson 4: Counting through shopping

1. Assemble toys and have prices for each toy

- have colored "money" ready

- prices will say III red taka, IIII green taka, etc.

- play shopkeeper and reverse roles

2. Make envelope to put the money in

- use glue, glitter and have fun!

3. Sing number song, repeating 1 through 12.

- you could jump skipping rope while singing

4. Play with blocks.

- build a tower with different colours, while counting the blocks

5. Money hunt

- hide the money in different parts of the room. Find them together and explain the concept of substraction

- there were 5 green taka, we found 3, so how many more do we have to find?

6. Jump on tiles while counting 1 through 12
