I legitimately feel scared for losing gay rights over transgender people and “queers” I’m serious. For decades we have fought against stereotypes claiming we are predatory and coming for your kids only for TRAs and queers to start pushing gender ideology to kids, HRT to kids, transgender characters in kids media (cartoons, movies) like what am I supposed to say to my conservative family now when radqueer is something that exists? When pedophiles (who now call themselves “MAPs”) have made themselves a “pride flag” with little to no resistance? How can I convince them that not every homosexual is a pedophile degenerate when it seems like all the “queer” community is focused on rn is normalizing porn and degeneracy?

This fear of mine bubbled up again after reading a post that went something like “conflating homosexuality with degeneracy is a self-fulfilling prophecy” and it clicked for me that queers will literally take LGB people down with them due to their obsession with normalizing anything and everything no matter how repulsive or harmful. That’s why “pro-kink” exists & “kink shaming” is viewed as an actual axis of oppression. You can’t even say it’s weird to fantasize about rape or incest without 12 different people who have fae/faeself pronouns in bio and some weird pride flag you’ve never seen before as their icon send you harassment over being a “puritan bigot.”

Idk I’m just terrified that we are going to lose rights we fought so hard over from a bunch of perverted opportunists.

I feel like the only thing we can do is separate ourselves from the “queer” community entirely. There needs to be a serious, clear, and vocal political separation between “queers” and LGB people. The average person needs to understand that “queer” and LGB is NOT the same thing. I know “gay/lesbian/bisexual not queer” exists as a phrase but I think it needs to advance to an actual political movement of sorts.
