Tank Updates!

Moved the scape around for both more open swim area and hiding places

Added a Red Lizard Whiptail Catfish named Natasha to the tank. This is a species infamous for vanishing and only being seen once a year by keepers, but my theory that "the more hiding spaces your fish have, the more you see them" seems to be right: she's usually visible and often in the front of the tank, just chillin'.

Steve the Honey Gourami saw me taking pics of Natasha when she arrived and insisted on being in them too

Steve is also kinda stupid and Bad at Eating. He doesn't recognize his food, despite me feeding him the same thing as he was getting in the shop, unless it's in the middle of the water column, so of his food sinks while he's not looking, it ends up rotting on the ground.

To fix both the food waste and poor feeding skills, today's additions are 6 Green Laser Corydoras: tiny armored catfish from the Amazon that are voracious bottom-feeders, and 6 Threadfin Raimbowfish, a small, brightly colored fish from Australia that hunts at the surface of small, plant-heavy ponds. I'm hoping the Corys will help clean up some of the excess food, and the threadfins prompt Steve that It's Food Time when they start eating.
