I realized in a very sudden exchange of text messages that for the most part people don’t need me nearly as much as I need them

so I won’t be packing my bags for Minnesota

and when the peak of summer is breaking through in a push of importance larger than impending graduation I might be making my way to New York  for a final goodbye

it seems as though this has become the year of letting go
