i want to make it so a lot of the tension between taylor and leila (when they start falling for each other) is just them misreading each others signs. taylor is very physically affectionate (lots of touching) and very straightforward with how he feels, while leila isn’t very outwardly affectionate but expresses through words and small, usually unseen, actions. and they often misread each other a lot initially. that, and leila often looks too deeply into things, when taylor takes everything at face value. plus, leila is very bad at expressing that she likes something. i.e. taylor giving leila space, but leila misreading it as “he is ignoring me”. or leila calling taylor an idiot, and him thinking she really is calling him an idiot. or them getting into arguments and completely misunderstanding each other the whole time. but leila, as much as she likes her space, realizes that taylor’s touching and overbearing-ness means he just really cares for her, and leila’s scolding and small loving actions towards him means that she loves him too.
