IS THAT SAMISA SMILING AT WILLMACK?
Like father, like son (x)
"eklund, rejuvenated, energized" got me thinking of this
i fear smith has been replaced by wennberg on the celebrini line… and i fear also that given their respective games tonight i cannot argue with this decision
EDIT: ok since apparently nuance has gone out the window. obviously not saying this is or should be a permanent change. just clocked that warso seemingly wanted to keep wenny out over smitty at the end of the third and thought 1) it was a fair decision for tonight and 2) this was a relatively humorous way to post about it.
guys. sometimes players have bad nights. when they do, sometimes it’s more efficient to bench them or reduce their TOI so they’re not out there reinforcing negative patterns. it shouldn’t be an every game solution, but it’s okay every once in a while when they’re clearly in their own heads. it does not mean they are bad players or that they should be benched forever.

I finally finished my hot dog print!!! And I’m shocked how nice it looks on the recycled paper I made too :3
Sharks heard the Predators have beat them the last however many meetings and then set out to help them extend that streak tonight.
He did this epic scowl and I immediately started crushing on him so that's 2 characters in this show I have a crush on now.
Anyway, second episode down and I'm still on board the "this show is something special" train. We've got a clearer idea of the narrative structure with a bit more discussion surrounding the agency running these guys around, as well as factions opposed to the agents and attempting to kill them and beyond this very season. Said factions are given complexity in their described morality and goals from newcomer Itecho but picrel Rosei shuts down the complexity so thoroughly as to feel like a red herring for us the viewers - I don't believe that they're basically troublemakers and nothing more when you have one specific guy lay it on this thick, and it being the Violet Evergarden guy I feel confident declaring that. They're not as simple as they seem and I have a feeling the show will make efforts to make us understand their viewpoint.
The other big thing this episode is we're given clearer context as to the circumstances surrounding that first scene of the first episode, the events that lead to Hinagiku's disappearance. And while we're still not given loads, what we do get is absolutely harrowing. Sakura's firmly cemented herself as my favourite character of the season already and hearing the earth-shattering despair that Yoshino Aoyama brings to the role in these scenes is insane, it's so powerful. It's not even much time in the episode spent on it but it just feels so good. I'm just on board man.
My only minor complaint real quick though - I'm more than happy to view this show through the every character is gay lens because it brings me joy imagining Sakura and Hinagiku yuri and now this episode Rosei and Itecho yaoi. But I'm mature enough to engage with the fiction and if it goes in the direction of Hinagiku and Rosei are a couple as is an implied desire for the two here, that's fine with me, I am very cool with that. But when Rosei starts telling Itecho "save those lines for Sakura" I'm very much like, huh. That type of "we NEED to pair all the het couples up" writing annoys me more than anything lol. Sakura cast aside her entire relationship with Rosei and Itecho for Hinagiku's sake like she specifically is down horrific and even if she doesn't end up with Hinagiku or anything I also don't think she should just end up with someone else just for the hell of it. But we're early in the narrative and I'm making pre-emptive judgments about writing decisions that may or may not happen and even if they do might be compelling enough to win me over anyway so, it's not actually a big deal.
But yeah no I did just really like this episode again, my "who knows if this'll be good literally next week" from episode 1 has fully been replaced with optimistic enthusiasm. We're definitely too early in the season to make any calls for anime of the season and I've not even started a good amount of shows I'm interested in that are already out, but good god this is such a strong frontrunner it seems a little unfair lmao.
