Review: Marvell Colorz II 400ZR QSFP DD IN-Q3JZ1-TC - The Future of High...
What does open optical networking mean? How can you achieve a truly open optical network? Let’s take a closer look.
Within optical networking circles, the words “openness” and “disaggregation” are frequently used interchangeably. But they are not the same thing. Achieving the value behind the promise of openness is about more than network disaggregation. Openness requires hardware disaggregation, and there are different levels of that. I am going to focus here on partial disaggregation, which is the most common approach. That’s where the optical line system is disaggregated from the optical terminals, and the entire optical line system is provided by a single vendor …

Our all-new DCI OLS is a major step forward in the development of new network architectures and lights the path to commercial deployments of complete 400ZR solutions. It’s been specifically engineered to help you meet fierce data demands in the most open, flexible and cost-effective way possible and provides a capacity of 26Tbit/s on a single fiber.
Data centers are already tasked with maintaining broad connectivity with the cloud, individual users and other entities, and a key element of this network is the interconnect they use to communicate with each other. As the 5G era unfolds, traffic on this infrastructure will increase and become more dynamic in nature, which means today’s data center needs to ramp up its inter-networking capabilities at a rapid clip ...

ADVA (FSE: ADV) today announced that it has successfully demonstrated interoperability between its next-generation FSP 3000 DCI open line system (OLS) and QSFP-DD 400ZR modules from Acacia Communications and Inphi Corporation. Conducted over a 120km amplified link, the tests show a clear path to commercial deployments of a complete solution with all the benefits of open, programmable networking. The trial featured 400Gbit/s WDM transport using low-power 400ZR pluggable QSFP-DD transceivers from Acacia and Inphi with ADVA’s FSP 3000 DCI OLS. It was carried out under real-world conditions with 400Gbit/s channels placed next to the test channels as well as a fully loaded spectrum. To validate three-way line-side interoperability, 400ZR was transmitted from Acacia to Inphi and vice versa. Test results showed that this multi-vendor ecosystem exceeds all OIF 400ZR Implementation Agreement performance metrics. Large-scale DCI network operators now have an easy and cost-effective route to a dynamic, future-proof and open environment …

ADVA (FSE: ADV) today launched its new FSP 3000 data center interconnect (DCI) open line system (OLS) specifically designed for 400ZR technologies. The new DCI OLS addresses the most urgent challenges for network operators by enabling commercial deployments of DCI infrastructure based on 400ZR. These high-density, cost-effective, open solutions that are optimized for point-to-point applications up to 120km will be key to rapidly expanding DCI capacity to meet soaring data demand. Currently undergoing customer testing and evaluation, the ADVA DCI OLS has demonstrated seamless interoperability with 400ZR pluggable transceivers. The solution is fully compliant and even outperforms the 400ZR standard. What’s more, with data center-compatible open APIs, it can be directly integrated into SDN environments ...
