403 Access Forbidden Error for Apache Server

So, in this post, i will be listing down the possible scenarios (that I know of) for the 403 Access Forbidden error thrown by the beloved Apache Server. To Add, I will definitely be adding more scenarios as and when i encounter them and will be keeping the post updated.

Scenario 1 : Access forbidden by the httpd config (httpd.conf)

a) Go to your the httpd.conf file.

b) Go to the section <Directory>. This defines the root directory for your Apache Server.

c) Add the line Require all granted. 

Scenario 2 : VirtualHost throws access forbidden

a) Go to your VirtualHost entry. 

b) Make the configuration as given below :-

<VirtualHost *:80>

 ServerAdmin [email protected]

 DocumentRoot "<BASE_DIRECTORY_OF_YOUR_APPLICATION>"

 ServerName <DOMAIN_NAME_OF_YOUR_APPLICATION>

 ErrorLog "<PATH_FOR_ERROR_LOG>"

 CustomLog "<PATH_FOR_ACCESS_LOG>" common

 <Directory "<BASE_DIRECTORY_OF_YOUR_APPLICATION>">

       DirectoryIndex index.php

       AllowOverride All

       Order allow,deny

       Allow from all

       Require all granted
