Even though I have had one of the worst days I have had in a long time I still showed up tonight to receive my #40under40awards from @nycfoodpolicy at Hunter College. It took everything in me to go but then I did and I was happy I did because it helped me refocus on what is important. Thank you to the woman I talked to tonight whose name I cannot remember but doesn't realize how therapeutic her understated encouragement, realism and honesty were. #riseabove also, isn't that award just the cutest damn thing! #awards #honoree (at Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College)
