The most recent episode of Abbott Elementary is beautiful. I love seeing Black women being loved on-screen, and I enjoy watching the growth of Ava and Janine.
Also, miss Janelle is so fine 🌚

Here, have some selfies no one asked for ...
So I heard a couple of boats sank at a Pro-Trump boating event and I only have two things to say... 1. But what about the Titanic? 2. All Boats Matter. Off to the races!! 🎉🎓👩🎓 (warning: long and mushy ramblings ahead) . . It's taken me five years to graduate (#transferstudent ) and it's been quite the freaking journey to get this degree, but in hindsight, I wouldn't have it any other way. I remember as a sophomore being bitter and thinking I wasted my time at uconn, I should've fought harder to come to massart as a freshman, why does everything have to be so hard, etc (cue the tiny 🎻). But now I'm like. Damn. I am such a better person and sUCH a better artist by getting to experience two different educations. Uconn was my home and where I honed my artistic skills. My lineart? My lighting? My compositions? My color theory? All Uconn, all the freaking way. I know a lot of people that snub getting an art education at a regular university, but goddamn, even with uconn's limited resources, I still walked away with an education as good or better than any art school kid. #yeahisaidit . And then there's Massart, my second love. I truly believe that anyone can be an artist, but it takes way more work to become a professional. Massart taught me how to work with clients, write an invoice, stick to deadlines, take an assignment and push the creativity to its limit. I learned about WAY more artists, both historical and contemporary, and got to learn from working, professional illustrators every day in class. I got to work in my own studio, print whatever whenever, use every program under the sun, plus dozens of other opportunities and resources that I would've taken for granted had I not studied at uconn (where the art department is literally .1% of the student population) and worked at Starbucks for 9 months while waiting to transfer (working in your tiny childhood bedroom is limiting to say the least). . All of this is to say that I'm really, really grateful for everything that's happened these past several years. It's been such a hard journey, and there were several moments where I doubted myself and my decisions, but in the end, it's all added up to make me the artist--no, /person/--I am today. . . . @massartboston #illustrationmajor #graduation #classof2019 #illustration #bianabova #artschool #artstudent https://www.instagram.com/p/ByD-VbRjGuM/?igshid=3aqo4q1qaimd
