48. The Study of a Plant
Professor Murphy of the University of Oregon- Not only am I the campus's leading expert of horticulture, but I pose myself as the most knowledgeable on mythos and cryptids. It was only to my sheer delight upon acquiring the seeds of a previously unknown plant species. While it is not known to science, it has been the base of many tales out in the woods. Mostly describing people becoming lost in the forests and never returning.
47. At the Edge of the Horizon
"Are we close yet? It is roasting out here," I complained to Sean. "It should be just over the next hill," he enthusiastically told me. Sean has said that 3 times already, and it was hotter than hot out here. I was enough of a fool to let him drag me miles out in the badlands. There was hardly much out here only sheer rock and a few scraggily bushes. He didn't even tell me what we were out here for. I chugged down some more water to replenish the sweat pooling on my face.
46. Painting a Man
A thick wide brimmed boulder hat, skin like pail parchment, and a suit ridged and tightly cut, but the face I could never tell. I always felt as though the painting has always been incomplete. It was only from the faint mists of a reoccurring dream. I would wake and watch as the man stared at me from my doorway. I just had to paint him, almost like I would pop if he was not put to canvas. But that face. I could never remember a single line of his face. I could only paint the ghoulish haze of a face. I could never paint his piercing gaze. Almost as if he knows something to which his mouth never utters a single sound, and instead he just looks at me from the shadows.
45. Sunset
I sat there in worry. I sat in my own cabin afraid for my life. All because of what was behind the bathroom door. I never thought things would turn out like this. Actually all I wanted was to have some fun. It was just a few days ago that I came here.
44. Cause Camping
I was inkling to purchase a rather large piece of grounds that I wished to convert into a place for the so called "camping experience." Not that anybody, who does that, ever knows what it is like being out in the woods for real. The land used to be part of a kids summer camp facility called Pine Creek. It was abandoned some odd years ago. It used to have a pretty good set up. It had plenty of cabins and is right next to a lake no less. The grounds were left barren, after a few incidents plagued Pine Creek into bankruptcy.
43. Frozen Town
I was driving down the freeway. It had been a long stretch of a drive with the deep cold biting at me. The drive was only for 6 hours, but the cold New England winters made it all the harder. I was on my way to visit family for the holidays, but right now I had only a hot cup of coffee as my only company. I downed some pills that my doctor had prescribed to keep me regular. Like he would know what anything regular is.
