Final evaluation of Absence and Presence Project.

Final images in different postions for presentation if they were hung on a wall. Overall I'm happy with these images and how they represent the purpose of my shoot, the presence of human beings however the absence of any human figure in the frame.

Contrast of print 3-

Image 1- grade 3, 12 seconds, f.16, this showed some detail and definition however, the left hand corner was to exposed and bright, for enough detail to come through. 

Image 2- grade 3, 15 seconds, f.16- this was my final print.

Development for second print however, after the first print the exposure time and aperture were similar/constant for each of my prints.

Strip 1- grade 3, 3 seconds, f.16- different exposure to obtain the correct time

Strip 2- grade 3, 12 seconds, f.16

Development of tester strips to identify which, exposure were correct for my prints.

Strip 3 was not developed properly however I like the finally outcome as it shows a vintage smokey effect.

Camera Lucida: Reflections on Photography

Rolands Barthes believes that photography can be an object of three practices:

The operator- the photographer themselves

The spectator- ourselves the people who look through magazines, books etc

The spectrum- the person or object being photographed being the target 

‘ The Photograph (the one I intend) rep- resents that very subtle moment when, to tell the truth, I am neither subject nor object but a subject who feels he is becoming an object ’- Image repertoire.
