No Good Deed (Canon Dapper/420 deathfic)
We will bury you.
Oh God, how those words burned. She knew Russian. She knew what the intent was. And it still burned. ... We will outlast you. And that was how four words brought 420 to her knees, crumpling and ripping the newspaper in her hands. Everything.... Everything.... Was for nothing? She killed him. In desperation, but she had. Crammed a chunk of her own Green Matter in his mouth and forced him to eat it. Got chased out by an automaton guard. Got both her legs broken by the bastard.
That meant...nothing? Nothing to Nikita? He, and everyone under him, would just outlast her? And win? Oh, he wouldn't get the chance. She got back up, running towards the door, only to be held back by Opal. Yelling at her, calling her by her old name... She had yelled back, screaming. Furious. Unleashing the anger she had at her former friend. Unaware that Harvey had snuck up behind her, pulling wires from her neck. Forcing her to shut down. --------- She woke up to being hung on a wall. Blurred eyes looking around, sharpening after a moment. Harvey was at the table, shirt sleeves rolled up. Wiping at his face for done reason. Opal was next to him. Red-faced, like she had been crying.
She had tried moving her arms.... But without success. Same with her legs. In fact.... Nothing outside of her head moved. And looking down, she saw why. Her waist was uncovered and open. Her core was exposed.
And the inevitable hit her. ”...Really. The both of ya....hate me that much?” So much venom in her tone. Making both of them jump and look at her with scared faces. ”....After everything. After everything I did for you! For everyone! YEARS!”
Harvey moved first. ”Dap-...420. You killed a man. Tried to start the war.”
Half laugh. ”I've killed more th'n just one man! 'N all to keep a war from happening!” ”Well, it didn't work. All it did was escalade the tensions...” No pause as she replied "I can still fix it.” The bitch chimed in. ”No! No, you can't! You can't kill anymore!” ”Just watch me, you whore! Let me down and I'll show you here and now what I can do!” Instantly, Harvey had reached forward. Her core... Her lifeforce was in his hands. And he was trying to pull it out.
"...... Not even a 'sorry' for an old friend?” He glared at her, nervous but determined in what he was about to do. ”An old friend? No. You?" A jerk, which was accompanied by a harsh spark in her chasis. "Different story.” Her boiler lurched at that. He hated her. She, who was completely and totally faithful to him. And he... He knew. He knew what Opal did to her. The pain she caused. How she spent night after night crying on his shoulder, until it became too much. Opal had already pounded into her that she hated 420, that she was nothing but walking, talking scrap metal. But Harvey... He said he would always watch out for her. No matter what....
It was then something in her snapped.
Liars. Both of them.
Oil threatened to leak from her optics as the realization sunk in. Head hanging as her mind comprehended the fact both didn't care about her. She had truly sunk low. The people she killed, bots she had betrayed... Karma was coming back and it hit her hard. She would die. And by the very man who gave her life. Her voice boomed at them both as she startled them with "Fine! So be it! You both don't care... So why should I?" Her eyes bore on the man in front of her."Just know.... Just know I hate you. Both of you. And I will kill you, I swear to God. I will! I will send you both to fucking HELL! I WILL COME BACK FOR YOU!”
Oil had already spilled past her cheek plates as she yelled. Then she felt the wrench of her core as it was torn out. Head bobbing down as her systems were forcefully shut down.
She saw something amazing the last few seconds of coherency though. Her core. Whole.
Bright, brilliant green. Beautiful. Perfect.
