Dear Weed

Hi.

I've been meaning to do this for awhile. We've been going at it for years, you and I; we have fun! Why wouldn't we? I'll admit that I've never felt bored - you're always changing and you aren't afraid to be yourself. You don't seem to ever not be yourself. But it's not just about fun in life. I don't think we're good for each other. I lie around watching television and you... well, you don't really do much anymore; we never go to parties together like we used to and dancing with you hasn't gotten any more fun. I don't think we're good for each other. This is not a healthy relationship.

Now, don't get me wrong: I will miss you. I might even want to reconnect with you every once in a while, chill out, drink some wine, watch Adventure Time. It'll even be fun. But I think it's best for the both of us if we stop making this a regular thing. I hate to say it, but honestly, when I ask myself if I could be with you every day for the rest of my life, I can't find it within myself to say yes. 

So I think that for now - not forever, but for now - we should go our separate ways. We should stop kidding ourselves and just stop. Au revoir, mon ami, may we always be good to one another.
