B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience? Most of my fics are far, far removed from myself- on purpose because that’s usually where I get the most enjoyment out of them. There is one major exception though. Don’t Let Your Heart Get Heavy has a disproportionate amount of reality to it. It’s a deep draw from my own relationship experiences (at parts, some of the dialogue is ripped right from life). That one was close to home.

Okay, so I’m going to pick Supercorop for this (b/c  I can’t picture either Root nor Shaw needing protection lol). 

Honestly, I’d probably go traditional and make a fic about constantly-in-danger CEO Lena finally breaking down and getting a bodyguard- Kara. They’ll be fights about Lena not taking care of her safety, and Lena yelling at Kara’s eating habits. Kara will move into Lena’s home- obviously- and lots of eating together, watching TV together, lots of alone time to get to know each other. They’re been Lena trying not to stare when she catches Kara working out and Kara working hard to desperately walk the tightrope between professionalism close and “excuse to stick closer”. At some point they’re on the road for a conference, have to share a hotel room. Maybe fall asleep on the couch together, Kara rooting for Lena in a supportive genuine way Lena’s never had. Someone getting Kara in a way she’s never really had either. There’s some revelations, some almost confessions, falling and realizing there’s something more brewing and both being terrified to face it or accept it. 

There’s an attempt (smallish) on Lena where Lena’s choices, stubbornness (something they’ve talked about) made her more in danger and Kara gets angry after saving her (because she cares) and Lena getting angry back (because she’s not used to someone caring and things are getting too close and she’s losing her nerve). They’re both falling at this point but this issues causes Lena to maybe fire Kara. They’ll be lots of both of them, lonely without the other stewing in their own feelings. Lena doesn’t hire new security (idiot) and the Big Event is coming. Kara shows up in the nick of time to the Big Event to support Lena and Lena’s touched and they’re on the edge of love etc. AND THEN there’s an attempt on Lena’s life, right there and then. LUCKILY, Kara saves her, gets her in the car (think like Secret Service for the president kind of thing) and they’re breathing hard, faces close, adrenaline flowing, and Lena says “thank you for saving me”, faces just a hair a way from each other, and Kara swallows hard and says something about- i’m not even sure- maybe about wanting to protect her, always, and there’s a slight lean in, and inching, an ALMOST kiss… until Lena realizes Kara’s bleeding. She touches Kara’s stomach, fingers come away wet with blood, they careen to the hospital. It ends with a bedside talk, Lena joking about Kara being too good at her job, not being able to get back to work. Something about Lena brining Kara home, finding a way to take care of each other, and how Kara’s still fired until she’s better, I don’t know, not sure. It’d be cute though.
