You rushed into Julie’s studio grinning. you dropped your bag on the floor and opened your arms.

„How is my favourite band doing? Ready to rock the crowd tonight?” you exclaimed loudly.

Instead of excitement you were met with sad and worried expressions.

„Woo..hey, why the long faces, you guys?” you ask. Something is wrong,they should be playing.They are having a gig in a local club just in a few hours.

Julie pointed at her throat but didn’t say a word. You looked at the three boys for explanation. Luke simply sighed  and burried his face in his hands.

„Julie got sick and lost her voice.” said Alex finally. You blinked at them,and than at Julie.

„What? Oh, damn! Guys,I am so sorry. Is there anything I can do?”

Now, when you said this you meant as in calling the club that the band couldn’t play (the boys were still bad at handling smart phones) or maybe making a tea for Julie. And definetly did not think about what the guys did.

„You should jump in for Julie!” Reggie said, making Luke look up. His eyes shimmered with new found excitement. He turned to the bands other singer.

„Would that be okay?”

Julie started to violently nod her head before grabing a piece of paper and quickly writing down ’more than okay’.

„Great!” Alex smiled hugging the curly haired girl. Luke also did that and than rushed to you.

„Here, these are the songs we tought about playing. First, we open with Dreamcather and-„ you cut him off.

„Luke,no! I can’t step in for Julie! The band is called Julie and the  Phantoms not y/n stepping in Julies place and the Phantoms. „

„But y/n! It is not like you can’t sing! And it’s okay with Julie and us. It’s only for tonight, so we don’t have to cancel the whole show.” you shake your head at Reggies words. No, no,no. You feel yourself panic.

„I can’t…You can do it without me, Luke will sing all the parts,it’s gonna sound awsome. „

„No, Dreamcather is a duet, I can’t do it alone. Why don’t you wanna sing? You love jamming with us here.”

„Because then its just us! I can not play in a club full of people! I.. i’m just too afraid.” you said now real quietly. Luke got around the piano, took you hand and looked you in the eye. Him being this close made your butterflies wake up. Damn those green eyes.

„You do not think about those people, kay? You only have to focus on the music. Please y/n…for us?”

How could you say no? When four sad puppy dog eyed person looked at you at the same time.

„I..allright, just so you don’t have to cancel the concert.”

The three seeable and touchable ghosts errupted in cheers while Julie jumped up to hug you. She mouthed a ’thank you’, you only smiled at her as a response. You clapped you hands.

„Lets get to work than.”

Holy Sandwich 2 - the squared expositioning

The person – Levil – waited.

Apparently, that was something he could do, without anything to do. Just… stand there and wait. No muscle moved. Eyes closed.

Bloody freak of nature.

Sure, his eyes were useless anyway, and he probably ‘felt around’ with his oh-so-special locating of all the air in the room to take in his surroundings. But it was still weird and spooky. He could at least lean against the wall like a halfway sane person. He was standing right next to it.

With a huff, Richard let himself fall on the bed, looking around himself.

He didn’t want to have too many supernatural interferences in this weird threesome. The pillows were already there, possible toys allocated, lube – likely not necessary, but who knew – at the nightstand, ropes were made of safe material and hung over the headboard.

Clothing was not really a necessity, but hell, why not,

… and soon they… would have a threesome, as planned. When again did he become the person that planned such things?

But well, as soon as Trinity would come home, there would be sex.

Only her face was a bit more tired than before, one hair strand slipped out of her do, sometimes tickling her, so she brushes it back behind her ear. She’s in a neutral mood, right then. Still coming home, leaving work behind for once.

She knelt down, untying her shoes, putting them up in an orderly fashion and hanging up her purse.

After a few steps inside, brushing mentioned hair strand away, she takes a breath to call out.

A hand kept her from ever saying what she wanted.

Levil had stepped forward, hand pressed over her mouth for the moment, announcing his presence.

Then he took his hand away, levitating her instead, just a hands width over the floor, arms and legs paralysed. And here he’d wanted to forego supernatural tricks.

 The other demon stepped around her, actual doing the motions of looking her up and down, humming during his slow pace, unseeing eyes notwithstanding.

When he reached her front, he grabbed her chin, turning it slightly from left to right, he said: “You’ll do”

And teleported.

As I look over their death beds, I notice how wrinkled their faces are, while mine remains the same, youthful glow it’s had for decades.  I knew this moment would come when they would be ready to leave.  It’s funny how my best friends share the same hospital room and are dying on the same day.  They had different causes.  I forgot what those causes were, and I’d rather not remember.  I should feel happy they’re finally able to rest in peace.  They’ve been suffering for a while.

“Umeko, you have about ten minutes left.  Mondo, you have fifteen.”  I regret saying that so plainly.  I don’t know if they said anything, I’m not paying attention.  Instead, I’m counting down the minutes in my head.

The first ten minutes came by way too quickly.  The former street fighter’s spirit stood up eagerly waiting for me to lead her.  Lucky for her, her next destination is heaven.  I take her down the imaginary road that is so familiar to me, yet so foreign to her.  Dropping her off, she reunites with her parents and her other friends who I remember taking a few months ago.

“I’ll miss you, Koma.  Please visit when you can!”  She gives me a hug before turning and running to hug everyone else who was waiting for her.

Coming back to the hospital room, the next five minutes have already passed.  It is now Mondo’s turn.  His spirit is a bit stubborn, but after convincing him that I’ll lead him safely and that he too is going to heaven, he complies.

The same process is done as I drop him off with his brother, as well as his other relatives.  Before I can go, though, he smiles and ruffles my dirty hair.  I haven’t washed it in days because I’ve been too focused on him and Umeko.

“’Member to wash yer hair, buddy.  ‘Nd take a shower daily!  I’ll be watchin’ t’make sure yer doin’ it!”  Smiling, I wave goodbye, going back to the hospital room.  Their bodies are still there.

Luckily, I had made a deal with my boss years before this, knowing that I would want to go along with my friends.  He said that if I made sure to do my job correctly, after Umeko and Mondo died, I would finally be allowed the luxury to die.  I worked and worked so hard, I gave up talking to Umeko and Mondo often, but I still made some time for them.  Now, I would get to rest and spend all my time with them!

Not able to wait, I reach into my pocket and pull out a knife I keep in there.  Blades are my specialty, and I can’t live without them.  It takes me a few stabs until I finally collapse, tired, and bleeding.  My vision gets blurry.  I close my eyes and smile.  Finally, what I’ve been wanting to do for such a long time.  Now, I can rest…

Like a Ten Speed Bike

Daylight streamed through the office windows, a summer day with no clouds in the sky.

“Hey, Nick.” Maya piped up from the sofa.

The lawyer looked up from the many, many papers on his desk.

“What is it?”

“Why is it so hot in here?” She asked.

Phoenix sighed.

“The air conditioning probably went out. Again.” That’s the third time this week… Maybe it’s trying to tell me something. Like, ‘hey, don’t air conditioners get a break too?’ … which they don’t.  

Maya’s response took the form of a put-out flop back onto the sofa, which squeaked in protest.

A few minutes later, she spoke once more.

“When are we going to lunch?”

“Soon.” He said.

“But when?”

“Soon.”

“How soon?” She tried.

“Once I finish this paperwork.” And it would help if you would stop interrupting…

“When will that be?”

“Soon.”

“Ni-ick!” Maya huffed and flopped back onto the couch.

Phoenix chose not to say anything more and actually focus on the lengthy legal document in front of him. After a few minutes, the words began to blur together, and once they started to float off the page, Phoenix Wright, attorney at law, decided it was time to give up and succumb to the heat.

“Alright, time to go.” He stretched and stood up from his desk at long last.

“It’s a miracle!” Maya rejoiced, hopping up immediately from the sofa. “Okay, let’s go!” She stood by the door in seconds.

“Okay, okay, I’m coming.” Phoenix decided to forego his typical blue jacket in light of the summer heat, instead slipping his attorney’s badge in his pocket. No one would believe I’m a defense attorney if I didn’t have this. Besides, never know when I might need it…

June 8, 1:27 PM Outside Wright & Co. Offices

“Days like this make me wish you had a car.” Maya remarked as he made sure he locked the office door.                    

“There.” As if anyone would want to break in… “Hey, what’s wrong with walking?”

“It’s hoooottt out here, I mean, I’m pretty sure you could fry an egg on the sidewalk.” She sighed.

“Why would you want to do that? Sounds kinda gross to me.” Where does she come up with this stuff?

“See, even Edgeworth’s got a car! I bet it even has air conditioning!” Maya said, “Air conditioning that doesn’t break once every couple days!”

“Yeah, Maya, but to own a car, you need this thing called a driver’s license…” Phoenix shrugged. And this thing called “money to spend”…

“You know, I wouldn’t expect someone like Edgeworth to own a car like that.” Maya pondered, “I mean, nothing about him screams “flashy red sports car!”, right?”

“That’s true…”

“Hm… I guess he strikes me more as a limousine guy.” She decided.

“A limousine?!” Isn’t that even more flashy than a sports car?!

“And Nick, you’re more like… a ten speed bike.” Maya said.

“You’re not even talking about cars anymore…”

It wasn't my plan to meet someone online, i always found it kinda creepy and disturbing and would much rather have been set up on a blind date and know nothing about the guy then through some dating website. My sister set up my account cause "You've been single for years & need to get laid so here." and thats when he messaged me. To be honest i was kind of hesitant about the whole thing, but he made me laugh and not just the "lol" but actual laughing. He always made me smile though our talks and i was actually happy for once, i just hated not being able to see him or to touch his face or his hugs, which he said were THE BEST hugs ever. 

I just craved for his touch, for any touch. To be encased in his arm, to be covered his aroma. To actually hear his laugh. And to think that today i'll finally be able to, it scared me even more. Walking down the stair of my apartment building the sun that once shown in the sky had been covered by a grey cloud and the light trickles of the rain had begun to fall from the sky. "It must be an omen." I mumbled to myself, off to a great start. Turning the key into my VW Bug the song "Walks Like Rihanna" blasted through my speakers and i could help but my laugh it was my favorite band and the video played in my head. I just loved how they don't take themselves to seriously and just love to mess around. Thats the kind of guy i want.

Driving the normally fifteen minute drive to downtown felt like forever, and i just kept getting more and more nervous. What if i'm not what he expected, what if i don't meet his standards, what if i'm not pretty or beautiful enough for him. Walking to the cafe i stopped at the window and looked inside and stopped the grey beanie he said he'd be wearing and my heart dropped. "No it couldn't be!!" Opening the door i walked in tapped him on the shoulder "Hi i'm Jay McGuiness, nice to finally meet you Aurra".

Essay # 2

Complicated problems require multifaceted, complex solutions. Identify a convoluted issue facing society and devise a multidimensional solution. Remember, there is not a correct or incorrect response; therefore, do not invest time trying to develop the single right answer. Instead, tell us what you believe is the issue and propose a solution. 

An issue I recently began to have an interest in is the way people view our government. I find that the difference between celebrated and detested politicians, particularly presidents, usually deals with the economy. Presidents such as Lincoln and Roosevelt stretched the boundaries of the constitution to its limits in order to help their people. They go down in history as some of the world’s best leaders. However, in today’s world, we constantly pick politicians based upon how we expect they’ll do with the economy or how the economy has been during their incumbency. As a citizen with a vested interest in politics, I find we simply do not know enough about our government. We constantly complain about how things are going, but we aren’t sure how to fix them. There are many solutions as to how this country could be better; firstly, being educated more about political systems, whether in school, by media, or through our families, would be a huge step towards correcting a reoccurring problem. It does not matter if you are democratic, republican, or independent. If you have a better understanding of government, you might understand why you think that way and how to vote to suit not only yourself, but your countrymen. This alone cannot possibly end the problems that America faces, but it is a good start. Thinking of us as a country and not as individuals, stopping arguing on democratic and republican issues, and arguing about what’s best for the majority of the American public would get a lot more done locally and nationally. Also, increasing the voter turnout can only help represent our population more accurately. Thinking, “one vote doesn’t matter,” can only hinder our country, especially in difficult times. If more people voted, voting would be more accurate. People who complain about the country but never vote don’t help. Following this thought, people should be more educated on ways of voting and who they are voting for instead of just listening to biased political ads. Mudslinging should be no reason to vote for someone to represent this country. Many people are unfamiliar with absentee voting or representatives running for local offices, let alone Congress. They vote for the name they know, not who can do the job the best. Perhaps my biggest problem with national voting is my issue with Congress, a great example of how good ideas go bad with corruption and greed. We need to be educated on whom our representatives are because only one third of them go up for reelection every two years. It takes a long time to change, and our personal vote can only do so much (e.g. two Senate members per state are in Congress). As citizens of the United States, it should not only be our interest but our duty to make ourselves more educated for the sake of a better tomorrow. This problem needs multiple solutions, and addressing the issue is the only way for it to be acknowledged and remedied.
