youre doing this hobby for fun!!! you dont have an obligation to always wear the most common dress. if its plausible to exist and you want it then do it!!! doooo eeeeet haha
historical accuracy is part of what’s fun for me though. And I feel like I should do better.

if you're able to find at least one piece of documentation showing that the neckline was used during the time period, i dont see why you cant make it. if anything, you're making the reenactment more accurate since you'll be the only one with that kind of neckline, thus making it a rarity like in real life.
part of the issue is that it is actually the opposite, this is the neckline that it’s more common for people to make because it is more appealing to modern sensibilities.
