There are some things that just get my ire. People who speak for all, are self-important, and build themselves up by putting others down are just a few items that make me irate. Oddly enough, I found all of the above in an article about what non-moms should know!
I choose to respond to the author of this article in particular not only because of what she said, but how. Now, I understand…
D.I.N.K. 1 grew up in rural Pennsylvania and, after almost getting a full ride to the State pen, she instead attended Penn State purportedly on either a gymnastics or a baton twirling scholarship. Anything but a shrinking-violet, DINK 1 is a natural leader: focused, hard working, opinionated and, with the assistance of a few cocktails, loud and brash. She is unafraid to speak truth to power. In response, power rarely gets in a word. She loves to cook and bake and is our pre-eminent hostess, which is perfect because D.I.N.K.1 tends to hit it hard early, holding court and cranking it up to maximum volume by 7:30 at night, start head bobbing by 7:45, and then crashing out cold by 8 pm. On rare occasions when she powers through the 8 pm barrier, board up your windows lest D.I.N.K. 1 throw a rock through it.

I have been branded the DIY non-mom of the group. Honestly, I love a good project and because I have extra time I find DIY extremely rewarding.
Recently, I had the opportunity to help DINK 4 with her new apartment and tile backsplash. The project outlined below can easily be converted for a bathroom or an accent wall.
I can feel it and smell it in the air. Fresh mulch, that is. Spring is here! And there’s nothing that makes me happier than getting dirty — getting down on my hands and knees, and putting my hands in a big pile of mulch and spreading it around. I know it’s not the sexiest thing you’re gonna do today, but where there’s passion, anything’s possible.
