Wow! Tamale’s new adventure: Up the driveway! It’s a gravelly walk but she eagerly explored it. She would have continued all the way to to curl-de-sac if I had let her. She had already traversed the back deck and walkway to the garage. And after this she motored to the front door and back around 360 to the back deck again. (Forgive the condition of the driveway; the whole Ranchito needs work, but it’s work that would disturb Tamale’s well-being. So we’ll wait as long as we need to for any major repairs. Tamale comes first 👍🏼💖😸.)... BTW: She nailed her 2-step challenge PURRFECTLY right after this walk. Tamale’s Monday morning walk surprised me. She was pretty lethargic over the weekend... lots of trouble pushing up on her back legs to stand. I gave her a B12 shot on Caturday. Between it and resting she seems to have rebounded. She took ME on the walk. She chooses the paths and I follow. She also takes more breaks to rest, now that she knows the territory - a good thing as it doesn’t stress her legs so much. She’s such a little tank of a cat! New Challenge: 5 steps! They’re not as tall as the 2 concrete steps. But after tackling the 4 steps, Tamale scaled 5 steps, with some difficulty but no lack of determination. She had already been on a 60-yard walk, rested a bit in the shade, and ate breakfast with CBD oil just before this video was shot. Tamale is now napping peacefully. And despite the heat, she prefers to nap on the deck (I’ll rescue her before it gets too hot). NEW CHALLENGE: 4 steps, not 2! These wooden steps are a little shorter than the 2 concrete ones, and there are more of them. Tamale used to struggle with these a month or so ago, and that last step is still a doozy. (She was fresher today: no long walk this morning as I had to go to Austin.) What do you think? Will she ever be able to climb these again — without dragging that right leg?
