Just finished Bluebeard by Kurt Vonnegut. I’ve said many times before that even Vonnegut’s not-so-great books are miles better than many of his contemporaries. Bluebeard isn’t one of his best books but, in typical Vonnegut fashion, it’s filled with insightful and witty sections that bring fresh perspective on this mad world. Plus I love the cover design which features a brand new font called KURT by @jack_flag who has done all of Vonnegut’s books in this style. The Van Apfel Girls are Gone is a modern day Picnic at Hanging Rock. Tikka returns home twenty years after that fateful night that saw Hannah, Codelia and little Ruth mysteriously vannish. It is something that has haunted Tikka her whole life, the now woman unable to accept what everyone else has. They're dead. But, to Tikka, she sees Cordie in every blonde face and wonders if she had done the right thing - and noticed the gears in motion - in the lead up to their disappearance. This book is thrilling! I couldn't put it down out of a hunger to know more. There Re twists and turns at every corner that keep you guessing until the very end.
