Is Taylor Swift the New Fourth Wave of Feminism?

Move over Betty Friedan, there is a new woman in town.

While in the past century women have fought for the right to vote and gender equality, but today women face a new challenge. For modern day girls, Mansplaining and F*ck boys are the new problem, these men have created the assumption that there is one “perfect” body type, one way to look. There are some women too who with their fame conform to these standards, valuing beauty and appearance over personality. One woman however, is on the front line of this issue, and she is bringing a squad with her. With a posse of women ranging from a size 0 to a size 3, Taylor Swift and her squad are putting body positivity on the map. Leading a crusade of models who earn money for their beauty, Swift reminds young girls the age old saying,“it is the inside that counts... but look how beautiful and flawless I am.” With such a diverse group, Swift with her exclusive clique, oops, I mean squad, heroically shuts down beauty standards, one super model at a time.
