Epilogue - Three Years Later
Yet Another Open Letter to Brian Jacques
Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your passing, sir. I know in your books you taught me the importance of moving forward even in the midst of sadness, but I am also one to strive to give honor where it is due, and to me you are worthy of remembrance. Let even this day suffice, as it may testify to the hundreds of days in which I am deeply grateful for the irreversible influence you have had on my life.
It is with immense joy and humility that I have been able to witness the world of Redwall continuing to flourish; nay, to grow, in ways I wouldn’t have conceived. Mister Jacques, Redwall has memes. Memes. I don’t know if you have heard of the hilarity of memes, but I think you would enjoy them, especially with a Redwall-based twist. Not to mention the art and stories born of your ideas continue to pour in at a startling rate. What an honor to be in a position where I can bask happily in the glow generated by all this creativity, as well as to enjoy the friendships I have found through the Redwall community.
What can I say but thank you? Thank you, thank you, thank you.
