Yup, it’s taken me a while. but I love cooking and I think that I’ve gotten pretty good at it.
I think Phil Collins said it best. “Though we might hate to admit it, there are always two sides to every story...”
I may not agree with the things some people say, but I believe we’re all entitled to our beliefs and opinions. So, even when I find them despicable, I try to listen to what others have to say.
I used to be incredibly scatterbrained, so this is something I’ve had to work really hard at!
A few years ago, I discovered that making lists and following a routine and/or a timetable helped me focus.
I’ll admit it doesn’t always work. Sometimes I’m too tired or overwhelmed to get everything done but, by writing things down, I’m able to remember and classify my activities so that they’re more likely to get done... eventually 😒
This is a skill I learned when I was pretty young. I was still a child when my family life started changing. Parents splitting, moving away, coming back, bringing new people into the mix, moving again, splitting again, changing home, city, country...
Sounds a bit exhausting, doesn't it? Well, it sort of was, but it also taught me how to be resilient, and it led me to the last point on this list.
Yeah, I’ve been up and I’ve been down, and... guess what... I’m still here! Standing, somehow...
Even now, when I see the whole world spinning uncontrollably around us, I try to find comfort in the good things I’ve experienced this year. Learning new skills. Reconnecting with old friends. Building new --and better-- routines with my husband.
Thank you for stopping by! This was hard, but I really enjoyed doing it 😊
