Warriors getting another surgery?
After changing the way warriors worked by so much from cataclysm to Mist of Pandaria, it seems that warriors are getting another change to their skillset.
The removal of deadly calm? I never really liked using deadly calm, but as a cooldown, it still has its effects by allowing the spamming of heroic strike / cleave for 3 hits. Much more powerful in Cataclysm though, but I have accepted the disappearance of Deadly Calm.
Glyph of Overpower increases the duration of Die by the Sword for 1 second on each use? Yes please! With the lack of sustainability that comes with being an arms warrior, this is a very much welcomed bonus of damage mitigation that I will definitely find useful in PvP situations!
Buffing slam and removing overpower interaction with heroic strike was quite the sensible thing to do. As of right now, I'd always pick heroic strike over slam for 2 simple reasons. It does more damage if taste for blood procs, and it does similar damage without proc while being off global cooldowns. This makes slam, which was specific to an arms warrior, an actual skill we'd like to use as a rage sink when we are not on global cooldowns.
Overpower has been balanced out by being given a rage cost (albeit a cheap one), it has also been given the priority in a rotation by being the skill that activates sudden death, rather than our painfully slow auto-attack swings. In addition, executes make our overpower free for 10 seconds, giving warriors that good old feel of getting an enemy close to death and getting that damage boost.
just a quick share from wowhead's latest post about the 5.2 PTR. my main is a troll, and if this is a peek at the new model redesigns, i cannot tell you how excited i am!
