A Kiss of Love
“Babe?” Forth called as he stepped outside onto the back patio. He’d just finished the card game with Lam and the guys when he noticed that Beam wasn’t in the living room with Ming, Kit, and Kao. Forth drank the last of his beer and walked to the railing to see if his boyfriend had gone down to the hammocks.
Beam was easy to spot being the only one on the beach. He was standing at the water’s edge staring out at the ocean. “Hey,” Forth said softly as he stepped up behind Beam wrapping his arms around his waist “What are you doing out here?”
“It’s a beautiful night.” Beam answered leaning back into him. He could feel the warmth from Forth spending the day out in the sun from his bare chest through his well worn t-shirt. He was about to say something else but the rowdiness of Forth’s engineering friends spilled out from the patio door Forth left open.
“But we better get back before your friends bring their craziness outside.” Beam said tapping on Forth’s intertwined hands. Forth tsked before letting go reluctantly. Beam turned around losing his footing. He reached out to Forth to steady himself only to cause them both to fall as the sand slipped out from under their feet. They both laughed as Beam landed on Forth just as the tide came back in spraying them.
“I love you.” Forth chuckled a bit before a headier silence took over them. Beam smiled thinly as he used his left hand to caress Forth’s face. He thought of how he could have ruined this when he’d been stubborn a year ago. He was beyond grateful that he wised up and let this man show him how to be loved.
“Not going to say anything back?” Forth teased.
Beam crinkled his nose while shaking his head teasing Forth. Before Forth could say or do anything Beam leaned down kissing him softly. Forth responded instantly bring a hand up into Beam’s hair deepening the kiss.
“DON’T HAVE SEX ON THE BEACH. THERE ARE KIDS HERE!” Lam’s sudden shout followed by some cat calling from their friends on back patio reminded them that they weren’t alone. Forth lifted his hand up flipping him off.
