I just started duang with you with my friend, and she brought to words why I was liking to much; these two are just like MingKit from 2Moons
Starting 2Moons as part of my project of big historic BLs. Came in with very low expectations, but so far I am…loving it? It’s sweet and funny, with a really lovely breadth of kathoey characters populating its lil BL bubble, and I am absolutely adoring Bas’s debut performance here.
Yo has a bit of a self-esteem issue.
But Ming is determined to wake him up to the facts.
The two moons referenced above. Definitely looking (respectfully?)
They were looking. 100% looking. 👀
The annoyed dudes of Asian BL dramas [Vol. 1]
Like a lot of older BL Fans, SOTUS was one of my first BLs and a lot of the reason I got dragged into the world of BL. I specifically remember my first 4 BLs being Waterboyy (absolutely unhinged answer, thanks YouTube for that), Love By Chance, SOTUS, and 2Moons.
(More under the cut because I'm feeling ✨ nostalgia ✨)
15 Day BL Challenge (The Quadriquel) - Day 58
BL scene that made your imagination go wild.
To be honest I wasn’t fully sure what this prompt actually means—so I’m extrapolating basically an entirely new question from it. I’m interpreting it to mean:
Name the BL scene that widened your imagination for what queer TV could be—or basically what was the first scene that got you hooked on BL
Is that the actual question? idk. but it’s what I’m answering
MingKit on the balcony (2Moons)
What a strange scene right? 2Moons is not a series fondly remembered by the large majority of this fandom and yet, it always lingers for me. It was my FIRST BL.
THE F I R S T.
And it permanently changed my life.
Outside of that very real fact, I got so invested in MingKit (especially because they weren’t together in the original and 2Moons2 wasn’t out yet) and from then on I NEEDED to see more. PhanaWayo were good and all but it was MingKit that really hooked me—well that and the fact that I was a young queer person who was still trying to figure out what meant for me, and 2Moons ended up being that outlet for me.
The amount of times I wrote MingKit confession scenarios in the lead up to 2Moons2 is honestly so embarrassing but also so sweet. I got to explore a lot of my own identity through these characters and I’ll forever be thankful to them—even if I’ve now seen so many shows that put 2Moons to shame.
I mean!! I was one of the OGs!! And I think we’ve got to respect it for that!!!
So yes, this scene made my imagination go wild, because it introduced me to an entire brand new world of media and art, that helped to shape the person I am today. It showed me that there could be a place for queer art in all forms!!!
You can guess how important it was to me when Copter came out as nonbinary, especially because the entire time I was headcanoning Kit as nonbinary haha—representation really matters :)
One thing I know from watching thai dramas is that if a boy gives you green tea, he loves you
Unless you like pink milk, then he gives you pink milk
MingKit: Revenge time. Kit wears a lacy, risqué lingerie bodysuit on a night out with their friend group, since Ming is always showing off the goods.
It wasn't uncommon for the Wild Doctors and their boyfriends to go on a group date. In fact most of the bars near their college looked forward to the business since Forth and Ming drank like fish, Beam drank like a whale, and Pha's credit card never bounced. Plus six incredibly attractive boys did wonders for business when one sold alcohol to broken hearted individuals at a "discount" when they found out none of them were available.
(One bar in particular had starting selling "consolation shot flights" with six shots, each one themed after one of the boys. It was a best seller, even with those who hadn't been turned down.)
But it was incredibly uncommon that Ming was shooed out the door of his shared apartment with Kit as the older boy claimed he wanted privacy for getting ready for date night. Kit even went so far as to tell Ming to go on ahead and he'd catch a ride with Pha and Yo.
"It's a surprise, Moong Ming. How am I supposed to surprise you when you keep trying to take peeks from the couch?"
"But P'Kit!" Ming put on his best puppy eyes. "I don't want to be surprised, I want to see what you're going to wear noooooowwwwwww!"
Kit's only reply was to shove Ming's keys, wallet, and phone into his hands and then lock the door. At the bar, Beam kept shooting Ming looks as his bouncing leg shook the table full of drinks.
"What are you so anxious for, nong? It's just Ai Kitty. So he wants to surprise you tonight, what's the big deal?"
"P'Kit doesn't usually surprise me like this." Ming fussed with his drink and Forth scoffed. "I'm too excited."
"Well don't be too eager to burst, it'd spoil P'Kit's fun," Yo said as he walked up to the table, Pha not far behind at all, and only the hint of Kit hiding behind his larger friend.
"Na, P'Kit, are you trying to surprise me or punish me!" Ming complained. "Stop hiding!"
"Maybe it's both," Kit said as he stepped out from behind Pha. "Now it's payback for all the times you've gone around flaunting everywhere."
Air escaped Ming's throat, but no sound came out. Kit didn't shy away from wearing slim cut or even the occasional skinny jeans, but tonight they were extra tight, as if Kit had painted them on. Just barely counting as a shirt, Kit's mesh top was incredibly sheer, allowing anyone and everyone to see his lithe and toned body with just a hint of sparkle about his nipples as well.
"P'Kit, I didn't notice you got your nipples pierced!" Yo said as he clapped a little. "It looks very good on you!"
"That's the real surprise I suppose," Kit said while winking. Yo giggled and Pha rolled his eyes as he took his seat. "Now Moong Ming, what do you have to say?"
Ming remained silent until Yo smacked the back of his head where he yelped and blinked several times before rushing over, picking up Kit, and throwing the shorter boy over his shoulder. "Wow, it's so late already guys, I think P'Kit and I should go home. And sleep. Shower and then sleep. Yeah, gosh P'Kit, what did you do to get this dirt all over you? I'll absolutely need to help you wash your back to reach it all..."
"Moong Ming, you idiot! Put me down!"
"If I do, someone else is surely going to pick you up instead and I can't let that happen!"
