We love everything automotive here at Lead Foot Customs. Unless of course you drive Kia, Hyndai or Prius. Then to which we would love to run it over with our monster truck. Oh, And XB’s…. Anyways…Our main passion will always consist of pre-1960’s hot rods and race cars.
Today for our Lead Foot Friday Feature:
{The 1954 Chevrolet Gasser: Carbon Missile)
She has yet to truly be christened as The Carbon Missile, But thanks to our good friend Jeff Fry, She will some day be sure to race under that moniker. She sports a 468 Big Block Chevy, World Product Heads, SP Pistons, Scat Crank, ARP Bolts and Edelbrock Intake with 850 Carb. The transmission is a stick shift Borg Warner T-10 4 Speed. Which will probably spit its guts out on the track someday in the future. But no pain no gain right? 57 Olds Rear End, and 60 inch ladder bars underneath the rusty rear exterior. The front end is a 56 Chevy Truck Straight Axle on Model A Leafs. There’s aspirations for a Hilborn fuel injection unit in the near future, but we can’t seem to figure out if we want to sacrifice its ability to drive on the street just yet. It’s quite amusing to uncap the headers and whizz by on the road with the engine roaring under full unfiltered power. I promised my husband he could teach me to do a proper drag worthy burnout in this monster someday. We’ll be sure to catch it on video.
You can find a video of this car racing {Here}
It runs a 12.21 at 108 MPH.
